A one-night buying show in Exhibit Hall J-K
Core-Mark brings its Expo to the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis. The venue forecasts 1,500 attendees and locates the show in Exhibit Hall J-K. The event record reads 10 February 2027 through 11 February 2027 in the heading, the body and both description fields.
10 February falls on a Wednesday and 11 February falls on a Thursday. A Wednesday arrival with a Thursday release covers one night. A delegate who wants to be on the floor when the doors open adds Tuesday 9 February, and that makes two nights.

The same Wednesday carries three shows
The venue publishes a forecast attendance field on every event page. Indiana Health and Safety Conference & Expo runs 7 to 10 February 2027 at 850. Indiana Green Expo runs 8 to 10 February 2027 at 2,000. Core-Mark Expo runs 10 to 11 February at 1,500.
10 February carries 4,350 forecast attendees inside the building. 11 February carries this show alone. Four thousand three hundred and fifty against the 7,100 downtown rooms the venue publishes is 61 percent of the published room count.
The budget line sits above the headline rate
The room-night guide from the vendor Blocks sets out the arithmetic. A room night is one room held for one night, tracked per date. A budget is room nights times the group rate, plus taxes and fees per night.
The guide's worked example runs a $189 group rate, a 15 percent occupancy tax at $28.35 and a $25 nightly fee. That gives $242.35 per room night, about 28 percent above the headline rate. A walk-away set on the headline rate is short by that gap.
The guide names the fee waiver as the concession that erases the fee line. Ask for it in writing. No Indianapolis property in this assignment publishes a mandatory nightly fee, so the fee line takes a direct question rather than an assumption.
Attrition on a one-night block
Attrition exposure is the contracted floor minus the rooms picked up, priced at the group rate, and measured per night. The guide works an 80 percent floor at the $189 rate. A block that misses its floor on a single night carries the whole shortfall on that night, because no other night offsets it. Set the floor low on a one-night block, or stretch the block across two nights.
Parking and the skywalk clock
Denison Parking operates every Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium lot, and downtown Indianapolis holds more than 70,000 parking spaces. The venue publishes no group rate for its own lots, so put the parking number in writing before signature. The skywalk closes at approximately 11:00 p.m. and reopens at approximately 6:00 a.m. on the venue's rule of thumb, and the Convention Center states the times are event-dependent.
The venue hotels page carries one sentence and names no property. It states that more than half of the 7,100-plus downtown rooms sit within blocks of the convention center.
The midweek window and the new supply
hotelhaggle's group rate calculator states that the platform often secures 15 to 30 percent off standard rates, against a default assumption of 10 percent. That is the platform's own claim. The nights this Expo needs are a Wednesday and a Thursday, and both sit inside that band.

The property holds 800 rooms, carries direct skywalk access to the Indiana Convention Center, and the City of Indianapolis owns it.
