Nine hotel partner entries carry attendee rates for the Charleston Literary Festival, November 6 to 15, 2026. Three entries print a code. No entry prints a rate.
The partner list
The Mills House, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton. The Loutrel, at 50 rooms. Fulton Lane Inn on King Street. The Charleston Place. The French Quarter Inn. The Spectator Hotel. The Palmetto Hotel. The Francis Marion Hotel, at 235 guestrooms and suites. Charleston Vacays, a collection of properties.
Three entries carry a code. Francis Marion takes discount code CLF2026. The Charleston Place takes corporate ID 64410 in the promo field. Charleston Vacays takes code CHSLIT. The other six entries offer a booking link and nothing else.
A code with no figure attached
The partner page publishes no nightly figure, no cutoff date, no minimum stay, no cancellation term and no room type.
A buyer therefore holds three strings and no way to compare them. Two hotels can apply two codes to two different bases and both call the result a festival rate.
The one published figure
The VIP Experiences page prices three-day packages. Midweek, November 10 to 12, costs 1,500 dollars per person or 2,750 dollars for two. First Weekend, November 6 to 8, and Second Weekend, November 13 to 15, cost 2,000 dollars per person or 3,500 dollars for two. Both weekends read SOLD OUT.
The package includes access to all festival events, the donor lounge at Dock Street Theatre, a literary walking tour, a garden tour, and discounted luxury hotel rooms. The room rate stays unpublished on that page as well.
The two-person Midweek package runs 250 dollars below two single packages. The two-person weekend package runs 500 dollars below the same pair bought singly.
The window
November 6 to 15 spans ten calendar days and nine nights on one arrival and one departure. Sessions start promptly and last 60 minutes. The festival expects more than 60 authors and interlocutors. Every session but one takes place at the Dock Street Theatre, with general admission seating.
The Midweek package covers Tuesday November 10 to Thursday November 12. That is three days and two nights on a same-day arrival, or three nights with a night added before the first session.
The first ask
Ask for the rate the code produces, per night, for the named nights, in writing.
Then ask what the discount is taken from. A code applied to an unstated base returns a price nobody can audit. The base is a rate the hotel publishes somewhere, and the buyer is entitled to see it beside the discounted figure.
Five asks that follow
Ask for the cutoff date and the release date. The partner page carries neither. A block with no release date holds rooms past the point where a buyer needs to know.
Ask how the code prices Friday and Saturday. The festival runs across two weekends. A partner rate that applies Sunday to Thursday leaves the nights with the heaviest demand unpriced.
Ask for the room type, the occupancy and the all-in total with taxes and fees. A percentage off a room type the buyer cannot name returns a number the buyer cannot check.
Ask for the cancellation term on the room, night by night. The VIP package secures by email to the founding development director, and that route carries no published cancellation term.
Ask whether the code covers the full nine-night window or a shorter minimum stay.
Where the code route stops
The partner page lists nine entries. A request through hotelhaggle goes to 50 or more hotels in the destination. Offers come back in 24 to 72 hours with no markup added to the quoted rate. South Carolina sits outside the five states the platform excludes, listed on the seller-of-travel page as CA, FL, HI, IA and WA, updated July 3, 2026.
A partner code is worth pricing. A ten-day festival in a compact historic district draws on nine partner hotels.
Where the demand sits
Both weekend VIP packages read SOLD OUT. That is the clearest published signal on the site about which nights carry the demand. The Midweek package sits at 1,500 dollars per person and remains open at the time of this read.
The three codes apply across the full window. A group that moves to the Midweek dates keeps the same partner list.
The closing ask
When a hotel quotes a discount with no figure attached, the first ask is the figure. The second is the base. The third is the date the rate stops.
Three codes exist for this festival. A buyer who writes them down and asks for numbers returns with three comparable prices and a base for each.
