Five packages over three days
The Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering ran Oct. 23 to 25, 2026, in the Fort Worth Stockyards and sold the weekend in five pieces. The organiser names them the Friday Roundup, the Saturday Saddle-Up matinee, the Saturday Showdown and Swing, the Ballads and Brands daytime pass and the Two-Step swing ticket. Each package description states what it admits you to and stops there.
The matinee and the finals ran the same two hours
Both rodeo sessions sat in Cowtown Coliseum at 121 E Exchange Ave. The matinee started at 1:30 p.m. and ended at 3:30 p.m. The finals started at 7:30 p.m. and ended at 9:30 p.m. Same building, same duration, different card. Price the matinee against the finals at the box office, because the organiser prints no comparison.
The finals ticket already carried the swing
The Coliseum listing for the Oct. 24 finals carried a line the package menu does not. Purchase of an Adult ticket provides admittance to the Western Swing Event following the rodeo. The swing opened at 9:30 p.m., the moment the finals ended, in the same building. The Showdown and Swing package therefore reassembled two items that the single finals product already joined. Ask what the bundle adds before paying for it, and price the single finals ticket alongside.
The swing-only link pointed at the matinee
The Two-Step ticket is the swing on its own. On the organiser ticket page that link resolved to AXS event 1415422, which is the Saturday matinee rodeo product and not the 9:30 p.m. swing. The matinee listing carried no swing line of its own, so the link was misdirected rather than renamed. Buy the swing through the box office, or check the event id before paying online.
The daytime pass was two products
Ballads and Brands reads as one pass covering Friday and Saturday daytime entertainment at RFD-TV Studios. The organiser points it at two separate ETIX products, 98781466 for Friday and 65489045 for Saturday. A buyer who wants both days buys twice. The Saturday half also ran against the matinee, because the poetry session from 1:15 to 3:45 p.m. overlapped the 1:30 p.m. rodeo in full and the last music block closed at 7:30 p.m. as the finals doors opened.
What each day held
Friday ticketed: cowboy poetry 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. and cowboy music 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at RFD-TV Studios, then the ranch rodeo 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday ticketed: music 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., poetry 1:15 to 3:45 p.m., Red Steagall and the Boys in the Bunkhouse 4 to 5 p.m., music 5:15 to 7:30 p.m., the matinee 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., the finals 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and the swing 9:30 p.m. to midnight. The organiser's PDF marks ticketed items with an asterisk, which leaves the free list readable: the chuck wagon arrival at noon Friday on Exchange Avenue, the youth fiddle contest from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, the Boys Ranch Poetry set at 5:15 p.m. on the Rodeo Music Stage, Cowboy Church from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, the cook-off from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the awards at 1:30 p.m.
Fees did not change at the box office
The venue states that ticket prices and service fees are the same whether purchased online or at the Box Office. The number for the box office, (817) 625-1025, therefore costs nothing to use and is the only channel that answers a question in the same call. All sales are final and non-refundable. Exchanges may be possible depending on availability, and they are not available for resale tickets. AXS.com is the only authorised seller of Coliseum tickets.
No price was published on either estate
The organiser site carried five package descriptions and no dollar figure; the one amount on it was $4,500 in chuck wagon prize money. The Coliseum event pages carried none. The AXS listing refused the request and both ETIX pages returned an empty shell, so no price is claimed here. The district page said tickets were on sale while the organiser ticket page printed 2026 Tickets Coming Soon on the same weekend, which is the second thing to settle by phone. Write four questions first: the matinee against the finals, the bundle against the single finals ticket, the Two-Step against the swing, and whether the two daytime products sell as a pair.
Midnight made Saturday the room night
The swing ended at midnight in the Coliseum. Any package carrying it, the Showdown and Swing bundle or the Two-Step, left the buyer in the Stockyards after 12 a.m., so Saturday was the one night a room was not optional. The Friday rodeo ended at 9:30 p.m. and Sunday held a free church service at 10 a.m., so neither end of the weekend forced a stay.
The organiser listed five places to stay and no rate, no block and no cut-off. Three sat inside the district: the Courtyard at 2537 N Main St at 354 m from the Coliseum, the Hyatt Place at 132 E Exchange Ave at 483 m and SpringHill Suites at 2315 N Main St at 837 m. The TownePlace Suites at 805 E Belknap St sits 5.4 km out. Distances here are by road from Cowtown Coliseum.
