Three Nights from Sunday

The Indiana Convention Center lists Metal Treating Institute – Furnaces North America for October 12 to October 15, 2026. The venue forecast is 1,500 attendees.

The organiser's own schedule runs Monday, October 12 to Wednesday, October 14. Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. on the Monday. A group that arrives on Sunday, October 11 and checks out on Wednesday, October 14 books three nights. None of them falls on a Friday or a Saturday.

Wednesday carries the last technical sessions and the expo close, and the organiser books its MTI Final Night Dinner for members that evening. A group that stays the Wednesday night books a fourth night and departs on the Thursday.

What the Floor Covers

Tuesday, October 13 carries technical sessions from 8:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. and the FNA Business Expo from 11:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 14 carries technical sessions from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the expo from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

No Premium Night to Trade Away

A three-night Sunday-to-Wednesday booking holds no Friday night and no Saturday night. The block carries no weekend night for a hotel to price at a premium, so the ask runs on weeknights from the first night to the last.

The Rate the Organiser Published

The FNA hotel page lists the host hotel as the Marriott Downtown Indianapolis at $229, at 350 W Maryland Ave across the street from the Convention Center. The same page sets a booking deadline of September 25, 2026.

Engine publishes a market figure for the city. Indianapolis averages $128 a night across 1.2 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. Engine defines those as par rates, the cheapest public price at the moment of a search. October runs $134.

Set the Walk-Away Number Before You Submit

Three nights at $229 is $687. Three nights at $134 is $402. The spread is $285 across the stay.

Write your ceiling down before you send the request. Hold it at or below the market figure, and treat the published block rate as the seller's opening number.

Use the Skywalk Rooms as Competing Inventory

The venue counts 7,100 hotel rooms downtown, and 4,700 of them connect to the Convention Center by skywalk. That connection covers about 66 percent of the downtown supply and leaves 2,400 rooms outside the covered walk.

Send the ask to the skywalk properties and name your figure in the message. The $229 host rate is public on the organiser site, so every property in the ask can position against a number both sides can read.

The venue states that skywalk opening and closing are event-dependent, with a rule of thumb of lock-down at about 11:00 p.m. and reopening at about 6:00 a.m. Confirm the hours for October 12 to 14 with the hotel.

What the Organiser Says About the Block

The FNA hotel page states that show management expects the room blocks to sell out well in advance of the show dates, and asks attendees not to delay in booking. Treat that as timing information. Submit early, and ask each hotel for the block cut-off date in the same message.

Two further notes sit on that page. The first asks attendees to book only the rooms they will realistically use, because rooms put on hold and then cancelled near the meeting date could result in a penalty to the Metal Treating Institute for unused contracted rooms. The second states that FNA does not use a third party to book rooms, and asks attendees not to hand card details to anyone claiming to represent the show.

One Date Detail to Print in the Request

The venue lists the meeting as October 12 to 15. The organiser's schedule ends on October 14. Print both ranges in your request and ask the hotel to hold the rate across the wider window.

The Ask Itself

hotelhaggle sends one request to 50 or more hotels in the destination. Each hotel accepts, counters or declines, and the brand states responses typically arrive within 24 to 72 hours. Submitting costs nothing. The brand's glossary states that a traveller is never required to book and can walk away after the counter-offers arrive.

The brand's seller-of-travel page lists Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington as the states it cannot process requests from or for. Its help page adds California to that list. Indiana appears on neither list.

Keep a concession list ready for the hotel that will not move on price: complimentary breakfast, a waived resort fee, free parking, a suite upgrade or flexible cancellation terms. Ask for the perks in writing.
