The 2026 CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon runs on Saturday, 7 November. Race weekend runs 5 to 7 November, and the race's hotel block carries three published deadlines. The last deadline moves the conversation from the Housing Bureau to the property.
The dated steps
29 September – deadline to assign guest occupant names to rooms held under one name.
8 October – deadline to cancel without penalty. The Housing Bureau charges $25 for each reservation cancelled after Thursday, 8 October 2026. The property charges a cancellation or a no-show after 22 October.
5 to 16 October – the window for new reservations and added nights, with the date varying by hotel and availability.
22 October – deadline to modify a reservation through the Housing Bureau, including a change of name. After 22 October the property handles the reservation directly.
What 22 October moves
Through 22 October the bureau modifies a reservation. After that date the guest asks the property for a new night, and a night outside the held pattern becomes a rate question the property answers on its own terms.
The block page states the pattern. Where a search returns nothing for the dates requested, single nights and non-sequential nights can still sit in the block, and additional days can sit outside block pricing.
Read the two dates as an order of operations. A reservation held past 8 October carries a known $25 cost to release. A reservation held past 22 October moves the release question to the property.
The waitlist is a number to walk back to
A guest emails or calls the Visit Indy Housing Bureau at housing@visitindy.com or 317-262-8191, weekdays 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET, and joins the waitlist for a preferred property. The bureau calls to confirm when that property opens for the exact arrival and departure dates, and it sends a new acknowledgment.
A waitlist record names a property and a date range. A buyer holds an offer from a second property against that record and keeps two options on the same four nights.
The calendar behind the dates
Downtown Indianapolis holds 7,100 hotel rooms. More than half sit within blocks of the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium, and 4,700 connect by skywalk.
Race Saturday shares the city. The ISSMA State Marching Band Finals run at Lucas Oil Stadium on 7 November from 9:30 a.m. The National Science Teaching Association fall convention occupies the Indiana Convention Center from 4 to 7 November with a forecast attendance of 4,000. The Colts host the Dallas Cowboys at Lucas Oil Stadium on 8 November at 1:00 p.m.
Value that moves without the rate

Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington restrict name-your-price bookings under state travel laws, per the brand. Indiana sits outside that group.

Denison Parking operates all Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium lots and answers at (317) 916-1760. Downtown holds more than 70,000 parking spaces.
Work the file in this order. Book inside the block before 16 October while the bureau holds inventory. Keep each reservation cancellable through 8 October. Take the waitlist record for the preferred property. Put the nights the block did not hold to the property after 22 October.
