What the organizer publishes
The National Science Teaching Association fall convention runs Wednesday 4 November to Saturday 7 November 2026 at the Indiana Convention Center. The venue forecasts 4,000 attendees. The organizer sells the week on four days of sessions, workshops and an exhibit hall.
The ladder, in rate order
The organizer publishes a housing page with a rate for each property in the block. Thirteen properties carry a rate for the same dates. In rate order: Tru By Hilton 189 dollars, Holiday Inn Downtown 199 dollars, Hampton Inn 209 dollars, Hyatt Place 231 dollars, Fairfield Inn and Suites 239 dollars, Courtyard by Marriott, Springhill Suites and Omni Severin 249 dollars, The Westin 254 dollars, Hyatt Regency 259 dollars, Indianapolis Marriott Downtown and Embassy Suites 269 dollars, and JW Marriott 279 dollars. Indianapolis Marriott Downtown is the headquarters hotel at 269 dollars.
The spread between the lowest and the highest published rate is 90 dollars for the same dates and the same convention.
Set your ceiling on the ladder. Pick the property your group will walk out of each morning, read its published rate, and hold that figure as the highest number you accept.
The guarantee date
All reservations must be received by 11 October 2026 to guarantee availability and conference rates. The page states that reservations after that date are made on availability and that hotels may charge higher rates. Treat 11 October as the deadline to book inside the block and to negotiate your number.
The booking route
The block runs through IMN Solutions, the official housing provider. Agents answer at (571) 579-3867 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday, and by email at nstahousing@imnsolutions.com. Each reservation needs a valid credit card guarantee for one night of room and tax per room, and the page states the card is not charged at that stage. IMN Solutions sends an acknowledgement within 24 hours, and the hotel confirmation arrives about two weeks before the convention.
The page warns that unaffiliated housing companies add hidden fees and take full payment at booking. A booking outside the block needs a written all-in rate.
No shuttle, so the skywalk is the value
The housing page states that NSTA will not provide shuttle service between conference hotels and the convention center. The venue publishes 4,700 rooms connected to the building by skywalk, and more than half of the downtown total within blocks. Ask each property whether it connects, and put the answer in writing before you commit. The venue states that facility and skywalk hours are event-dependent, with a rule of thumb of lock-down at approximately 11 p.m. and re-opening at approximately 6 a.m.
Three nights on the calendar
Wednesday 4 November to Saturday 7 November is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights with a Saturday departure. A fourth night needs a Tuesday 3 November arrival.
The weekend around your departure
Lucas Oil Stadium next door lists the ISSMA State Marching Band Finals for Saturday 7 November from 9:30 a.m. The Indianapolis Colts host the Dallas Cowboys at the same stadium on Sunday 8 November at 1:00 p.m. Lock the Saturday night first.
Terms to read before you sign
Cancellations after the date the page prints as Monday 9 February 2026 carry a 50 dollar processing fee per room. A cancellation inside 48 hours of arrival carries that 50 dollar fee plus a property penalty of one night of room and tax. That date has passed. Confirm the live cancellation terms with IMN Solutions in writing.
The same page carries material from a different conference. It lists an Anaheim Marriott as a headquarters hotel at 305 dollars and gives distances from three Southern California airports.
