Thanksgiving morning at the square
The Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot runs on Thursday 26 November 2026 at General Worth Square, 916 Main Street. The 1K Gobbler Trot starts at 7:45 a.m. The 5K and the 8K start at 8:30 a.m. The organiser closes all courses at 10:30 a.m.
The race runs its 45th year. The registration page dates the first running to 1981.
The three terms a block sets
Four pages carry the race terms: the race page, the parking guide, the registration page and the FAQ packet. None of them publishes a hotel rate, a room block or a cut-off date.

What the race publishes
A timed 5K entry costs 50 dollars and a timed 8K entry costs 55 dollars. Both rise after 31 October 2026 at 11:59 p.m. CDT. The 1K Gobbler Trot costs 30 dollars and registration runs to race day. A VIP add-on costs 30 dollars on top of the race fee and stops at the first 400 participants. Group and family registration takes 5 dollars off per person from four participants.
The group line attaches to a race entry. It carries no room rate, no room count and no date.
Three medal caps
The first 10,000 5K finishers receive a medal. The first 2,000 8K finishers receive one. The first 1,000 children in the Gobbler Trot receive a finisher award. Those caps hold 13,000 awards across the three distances.
No page states how many entries have sold. No page states a field limit.
Four thousand downtown rooms
Visit Fort Worth publishes the supply side on its meetings page. The page reads "over 4,000 hotel rooms available in the downtown area alone" and runs a "4,000+ Hotel Rooms Downtown" headline. No page on the CVB site publishes a citywide total, so the figure is a downtown figure.
Eight free garages
The Y partners with lots and garages that offer free parking to Turkey Trot participants. The parking guide names eight places and prints a walk time against six of them.

The guide carries no price against any of the eight. Quote the FAQ sentence when the list goes into a request, and put the hotel parking charge in writing beside it.
The closure clock
Streets close by 6 a.m. along portions of Commerce Street, Houston Street and Lancaster Avenue. Roads reopen around 11 a.m., after the final runners finish. A race morning that starts at 7:45 a.m. sits inside that window, so the room is bought for the hours before it.
The date the buyer supplies
Name a cut-off date and a room count in the request. Ask the property to confirm both in writing. A hotel that published no deadline cannot tell a guest one has passed.
Ask for Wednesday 25 November and Thursday 26 November. Name the Thursday as the night the group can release. The Wednesday removes the 6 a.m. closure from race morning.
Packet pickup runs from Saturday 21 November to Wednesday 25 November, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Luke's Locker at 5255 Monahans Avenue keeps all five days. A Wednesday arrival sits inside that errand list.
Two counters in the message
The first counter is parking. The free list covers race morning, so a nightly parking charge becomes a line to remove.
The second counter is entry. A race entry costs 50 dollars for the 5K and 55 dollars for the 8K. The organiser publishes no ticket premium that a room quote can borrow.
