Five Published Rates Set the ACA Ceiling

A block with the numbers printed on it

The American Counseling Association holds its 2027 Annual Conference and Expo from 11 to 14 March in Halls C and D at the Oregon Convention Center, 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Portland. Five official hotels sit in the block, and the association prints a group rate and a booking deadline for each one.

A room booker normally negotiates without knowing where the property has already priced the group. Here the ceiling is public before the first call.

Five properties and five published rates

Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center, 375 NE Holladay Street, publishes $269 a night. Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown Convention Center, 1441 NE 2nd Avenue, publishes $230. DoubleTree by Hilton Portland, 1000 NE Multnomah Street, publishes $209. Courtyard by Marriott Portland Downtown/Convention Center, 435 NE Wasco Street, publishes $259. Hotel Eastlund, 1441 Northeast Grand Avenue, publishes $259.

Every rate is plus applicable taxes and fees. The band runs from $209 to $269 a night, a $60 spread across one block on one set of dates.

The association rules out a bureau

The hotel page carries the notice in full: ACA is not utilizing the services of any housing bureau or online hotel booking sites for this event. Reservations should be made directly with the hotel using the Make a Reservation links available on this page only.

The same page warns that third-party companies target exhibitors and attendees, and that a room bought through one can arrive as a false reservation or a lost deposit. Housing questions route to events@counseling.org.

That leaves a delegate a set of direct relationships. Each property answers on its own terms, and each one can be asked for a number below its own published line.

What sits outside the rate

Hyatt Regency applies a daily destination fee of $25 to each room, and quotes self-parking from $38 with valet from $45. A night at $269 with the fee and self-parking carries $332 before tax, and four nights carry $1,328.

Crowne Plaza quotes self-parking from $30. A night at $230 with parking carries $260, and four nights carry $1,040.

DoubleTree quotes self-parking from $31. A night at $209 with parking carries $240, and four nights carry $960.

Courtyard quotes self-parking from $43 and valet from $43. A night at $259 with parking carries $302, and four nights carry $1,208.

Hotel Eastlund quotes valet parking only, from $43. A night at $259 with valet carries $302, and four nights carry $1,208.

The layer above the room rate runs $30 to $63 a night across the five properties. Asking each hotel what it adds beyond the room rate surfaces it before signature.

Deadlines ahead of the stay

DoubleTree holds group rooms until Tuesday 9 February 2027. The other four hold until Monday 15 February 2027. Each runs until the group rooms sell out.

Registration carries its own dates. A refund request must reach ACA by Thursday 4 March 2027, and returns the fee minus $75, or minus $50 in the student, new professional and retired categories. No refund is issued after that date. The member fee runs $410 through 21 December 2026, $525 from 22 December through 8 March 2027, and $630 from 9 March. The non-member fee runs $675, $775 and $875 on the same three dates.

The hotel cut-offs land 17 days before the refund wall. A delegate who cancels registration in the first days of March is already outside the block and books at whatever the property quotes that week.

The hotel cancellation terms set their own dates. Hyatt Regency and Hotel Eastlund forfeit one night and tax on a cancellation after two days before arrival. Crowne Plaza charges nothing on a cancellation made before 6 p.m. local time two days before arrival. DoubleTree asks for a cancellation number at least three business days before arrival. Courtyard directs the guest to the property policy at booking.

Transit takes the parking line off the ledger

Distances from the venue, measured on OpenStreetMap from 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on 20 October 2026: Hyatt Regency 240 metres, Courtyard 500 metres, Hotel Eastlund 580 metres, Crowne Plaza 600 metres, DoubleTree 760 metres. All five sit inside a half mile. DoubleTree sits on the MAX line, with a stop next door.

TriMet charges $2.80 for a 2½-hour adult ticket, and a rider pays nothing more after $5.60 in a day. The same fare covers Portland Streetcar. MAX stops 300 times a day near the convention center front door.

A delegate who rides in removes the $30 to $43 parking figure from the daily total, and the room rate becomes the only number that moves.

What the request should carry

Name the nights first. Thursday 11 March to Sunday 14 March is the conference stay at three nights. A delegate attending a Learning Institute arrives before the Thursday start and needs the Wednesday night as well, which makes four.

Then ask for five items. The nightly rate for each night, quoted separately. Every mandatory charge by name and amount, including any destination fee. Parking, inside the rate or priced per car per night. The cancellation date in hotel time. Written confirmation that the rate holds for the rooms named, with the name of the person who wrote it.

Oregon sits outside the four states that restrict name-your-price bookings, which the hotelhaggle seller-of-travel page lists as Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington. A Portland request runs the standard mechanic. The buyer names a price, hotels accept, counter or decline, responses arrive in 24 to 72 hours, submission costs nothing and the buyer walks away from a counter-offer at no charge. The platform publishes a 15 to 40 percent band against published rates, and the guest pays the property directly at the agreed figure.

The ceiling here is $209 to $269 with $30 to $63 a night on top. Name a number under it and let each property answer for itself.
