The block closed on October 12 and the ladder now works as a benchmark

The CANVAS 2026 hotel page publishes six official properties with a full room-type ladder and one deadline. All reservations had to be received by Monday, October 12, 2026 at 10 p.m. EST to guarantee availability and the listed rates.

That date passed six days before this writing.

The deposit follows the same date. A credit card guaranteed one night of room and tax, hotels charge that non-refundable deposit on or after October 12, and a cancellation after October 12 goes through the hotel with the deposit forfeited.

Six properties, and what a quad actually costs

Hyatt Regency Portland, 375 NE Holladay St, across the street: single $235, double $235, triple $245, quad $255.

Hotel Eastlund, 1021 NE Grand Ave, 0.17 miles: single $219, double $229, triple $239, quad $249.

DoubleTree by Hilton Portland, 1000 NE Multnomah St, 0.46 miles: single $205, double $205, triple $215, quad $225.

Courtyard Portland Downtown Convention Center, 435 NE Wasco St, 0.29 miles: single $224, double $224, triple $234, quad $244.

Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown Convention Center, 1441 NE 2nd Ave, 0.43 miles: single $209, double $209, triple $219, quad $229.

Hilton Portland Downtown, 1.87 miles, with a free MAX pass to the convention center door: single $184, double $184, triple $194, quad $204.

The quad sits $20 above the double at all six, and the ladder steps $10 a bed. Two people in the Hyatt quad pay $255 a night against $235 for the double, which is $80 more across four nights for the same two beds.

The saving sits in the occupancy split. Four people in the Hyatt quad pay $63.75 each a night. Four in the Hilton quad pay $51 each.

Single and double price identically at five of the six properties, so a solo attendee pays the double rate and a pair splits it evenly.

The two cancellation ladders are different

Housing runs on the hotel page. May 1 through September 21, 2026: cancellations and changes at no fee. September 22 through October 12: a $40 fee. After October 12: changes go through the hotel and the one-night deposit is not refunded.

Registration runs on its own page. Before October 3: no penalty. Before October 8: a $100 cancellation fee. On or after October 8: no refunds for registrations or ticketed events.

No October 23 refund date appears on any conference page read for this article. The registration tier that applies today is the highest: $910 for a professional member, $1,210 for a non-member, $225 and $325 for virtual attendance, $660 for a member one-day ticket.

Both ladders have closed, which leaves the nightly rate as the live number.

The clock runs from a Saturday desk to a noon close

The organiser prints November 1 to 4, 2026 at the Oregon Convention Center. The venue lists October 30 to November 4 in Halls A1-B-C.

Onsite registration opens Saturday, October 31, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The desk runs 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and 7:00 a.m. to noon on Wednesday.

In-person registration includes the exhibit hall, the opening and closing receptions, and the limited virtual programme.

A Saturday October 31 arrival with a Thursday November 5 checkout gives five nights and covers the Saturday desk and the full programme. A Sunday arrival with a Thursday checkout gives four nights. A Sunday arrival with a Wednesday checkout gives three nights and ends on the Wednesday morning. A Saturday arrival with a Wednesday checkout gives four nights.

The ask on this row is a 6:00 p.m. Wednesday checkout, or a hold on the room until the closing reception ends.

Two published details to settle before the card comes out

The hotel page prints 1441 NE 2nd Ave beside both Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown Convention Center and Hilton Portland Downtown, and prints 1.87 miles for the Hilton with a free MAX pass. Confirm the address and the pass with the property before booking.

The organiser states that CANVAS falls on Election Day in 2026, which is Tuesday November 3. Listed rates exclude applicable taxes and fees, most hotels no longer offer daily housekeeping, and loyalty points still accrue on an Orchid Events reservation.

What to ask, in order

First, the nightly rate for the exact nights, in writing from the property, with tax and every fee named. Second, a 6:00 p.m. checkout on Wednesday November 4. Third, the deposit and cancellation term on the new booking, since the block terms no longer apply. Fourth, housekeeping frequency and breakfast, named rather than assumed. Fifth, a name change at no charge.

A party of ten rooms or more had until September 14 to request a block. That window is closed, so the group now books individually or negotiates with the property.

Orchid Events is the official housing provider and answers on 888-307-6880 or +1-801-214-7288. The organiser warns that unauthorized companies contact attendees with room offers and asks anyone approached to verify with Orchid Events first.

Parking, transit and the mechanic

The garage holds 800 spaces, charges $15 to 18 hours and a dynamic $15 to $25 at event entry. Overnight parking is prohibited and availability is first-come. MAX charges $2.80 for a single fare that holds for 2.5 hours.

hotelhaggle covers 46 states and 103,857 hotels, and Oregon is inside the served territory. A request carries the dates and a price per night, hotels respond within 24 to 72 hours, submission is free and a buyer is never required to book. The published saving range is 15 to 40 percent.
