The night the calendar leaves open

The 2026 Oregon Caregiver Conference runs one day, Tuesday, November 10, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. The programme opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes at 4:00 p.m.

An 8:00 a.m. Tuesday start puts a Monday, November 9 arrival on the calendar for anyone outside the Portland area. One night covers the trip.

The venue calendar lists nine events for November 2026. One of them falls on November 10, and November 9 carries nothing. The weekend before carries the Oddities and Curiosities Expo in Halls C-D-E across November 7 and 8. Kumoricon takes six halls from November 13 to 15. The month ends with the USA Track and Field Annual Meeting from November 29 to December 7.

The free seat, and the one line it leaves

The chapter publishes the arrangement in one paragraph. The first 250 Oregon family caregivers register free through Oregon Care Partners, and the registrant selects Oregon Family Caregiver under the registration options. Two conditions sit beside it. Places run first come, first served, and the registrant must live in Oregon.

Residency is the stated gate. The queue is the second gate, and it decides who needs a bed on the Monday. A caregiver who registers free still pays for the room.

Everyone else pays $100. The flyer prints that figure for professionals and the general public, with reduced rates for students and no student figure beside it. Payment is by credit card only and falls due at registration. 6.5 CEUs go to eligible professionals who register under the General Public option, live in Oregon and pay the $100. The chapter routes the CEU question to Lori at lstanton@alz.org.

Two clocks on the same day

The flyer prints 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The chapter page and the registration record print 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pacific. Lunch is included with registration, and a happy hour follows the programming.

Ask the property for a checkout after 4:00 p.m. A noon checkout puts the guest out of the room before the closing session.

No block, no code, no rate

Neither side publishes housing. The chapter page, the registration record and the chapter events index name no hotel, no room block, no group rate and no cut-off date. The venue event page names no lodging either. A property answers a direct request on its own terms.

The car is what makes the room necessary

The venue garage holds 800 spaces and charges $15 for up to 18 hours with no in and out privileges. A dynamic rate of $15 to $25 applies at event entry. The garage opens at 6:00 a.m., two hours before the start. Overnight parking is prohibited, and the garage fills on event days.

A guest who drives in on Tuesday morning cannot leave the car overnight. A guest who wants the 8:00 a.m. start from outside Portland needs a room.

What goes in the request

Ask for the Monday, November 9 rate as a single night, quoted in writing as a nightly figure. A one-night stay has no package discount to hide the number.

Ask what the property charges for a checkout at 2:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.

Ask for parking inside the rate or at a named price. The venue charges $15 to $25 at event entry and forbids an overnight stay in its garage.

Ask for the full mandatory charge list, itemised by name and amount, in one document.

Ask for a cancellation date on the confirmation that falls in the week of the conference.

Ask whether the property holds a block for this conference. Put the answer in writing.

Where this sits in the served territory

Oregon is inside the hotelhaggle service area. The brand home page states 103,857+ hotels across 46 states, free to submit with no obligation to book, and one request sent to 50+ hotels at once. A request for 10 rooms or more routes to groupRooms, which sends a single request for proposal to properties for group rates.

Nine directory members stand inside 0.51 straight-line miles of 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, measured from the same address. The nearest are the Inn at the Convention Center at 0.20 miles, the Hyatt Regency Portland at 0.22 miles, a Motel 6 at 0.22 miles and Hotel Eastlund at 0.23 miles. The rest run from KEX Hotel at 0.25 to Crowne Plaza Hotel at 0.44. No page on the chapter site or the venue site prices a night, so the rate comes from the property.
