A One-Night Ask For The 52nd Castro Street Fair

The 52nd Castro Street Fair ran from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Castro and Market streets. The organiser publishes a donation band, a closure list, a rail route and a date rule. The room comes from a property's own quote.

The Organiser's Only Price Sits At The Gate

Entry is free. The gate asks for a suggested donation of $10 to $20, and the FAQ states that nobody is turned away for lack of funds.

The press page carries one economic figure, and it sits inside a quote. A release for the 50th Fair in 2024 quotes the board president with an estimate of $8 million in total visitor impact the previous year. The quote names retail, dining and hotels as the beneficiaries of that spend.

A 2026 donation sticker returns a value on top of the gate band. The sticker takes $1 off drinks at Beaux, Copper Kitchen & Microbrewery, Midnight Sun and QBar. All four bars sit inside the fair footprint and inside the Castro Entertainment Zone. Guests aged 21 and over can carry eligible to-go drinks through the footprint, in no glass or metal container.

The second printed price sits one block away at the Castro Theatre. The Official Fair After Party runs the same Sunday, with doors at 5:30 p.m. and the show at 6 p.m. It is all ages, and tickets run $35.25 to $65.25 through Ticketmaster. Polyglamorous presents the party, and the lineup names Octo Octa, BEYA and Mark O'Brien.

The Night After The Fair

The Fair closes at 6 p.m. and the after party opens its doors at 5:30 p.m. Both sit on the Sunday. A guest who wants the closing hours and the show needs one night, and the night is October 4.

Check that night against the published band. The platform negotiation guide prices Sunday to Thursday nights 20 to 30 percent below peak nights. Sunday, October 4 is a Sunday night and falls inside that band.

Put the cancellation term inside the request. The Fair publishes no cut-off date, so the term in the quote is the date a buyer controls.

The Rail Drops Guests Inside The Fairgrounds

Muni Metro is the organiser recommendation. The K Ingleside, L Taraval, M Ocean View and S Shuttle lines all stop at Castro Station. The FAQ places Castro Station inside the fairgrounds, so the last leg of the trip ends on the footprint.

Four street segments close for the day: Market Street from Noe to Castro, Castro Street from Market to 19th Street, 18th Street from Diamond to Noe, and 17th Street from Castro to Noe. The General Info page states the Fair is smoke-free.

Five zones hold the programming. The Castro Stage runs at Castro and Market. The Collingwood Stage runs at 18th and Collingwood. The Queer AF Stage sits across from 575 Castro Street near 19th Street, the historic site of the Harvey Milk camera shop. The Family Zone sits on 18th Street by Diamond. Sundance Saloon returns to the Castro Theatre parking lot with two-stepping, line dancing and novice lessons.

The platform directory lists Beck's Motor Lodge at 2222 Market Street, 94114, at three stars. Market Street is one of the four closed segments.

What The Buyer Asks For

Submit one request for one night. The platform sends that request to 50 or more hotels and returns responses inside 24 to 72 hours. Submission is free and carries no obligation.

Ask for the terms beside the rate. The negotiation guide names complimentary breakfast, waived resort fees, free parking, suite upgrades and flexible cancellation as the concessions worth writing into a request. It states that a group needing 30 rooms carries three times the leverage of a group needing 10, and that a buyer can walk away at any point in the process.

The ask is a single night in the Castro, priced against the $10 to $20 gate band and the $35.25 to $65.25 after-party band, with the cancellation term in writing.

The Date Rule Carries Forward

The FAQ states the Fair is always the first Sunday in October, and the site states the Fair has given more than $1.6 million to local nonprofit beneficiaries since 1998. A buyer can carry the rule, the gate band and the rail route into the next edition.
