The venue page carries the dates and no price
Current San Francisco 2026 runs in person on November 4 and 5 at Moscone West, and the Moscone Center event page carries those dates, the venue and no price. It lists the conference as "Confluent's flagship conference dedicated to real-time data, data streaming, and artificial intelligence," and describes two days of keynote presentations, technical sessions, hands-on learning and networking.
In place of a price the page prints one instruction, asking readers to register their interest in order to receive conference updates, speaker announcements and registration information. A planner who reads only the venue page finishes with a calendar entry and no number.
The pricing sits one hop away, on the organiser page the venue links at current.confluent.io.
Four published rungs, each with a date
The organiser prints four pass tiers for one event. The Early Bird General Attendee rate was 499 dollars and it expired on August 15. The Advance Individual Pass was 699 dollars and it expired on October 10. The Standard Individual Pass is 899 dollars and it expires on October 29. The Onsite Individual Pass is 999 dollars.
The page header repeats the middle rung in a sentence of its own: register now for 899 dollars until October 29, and save 100 dollars with Standard Pricing.
Written on October 14, the 699 dollar rung closed four days ago. The 899 dollar rung has fifteen days left to run before the door price applies.
The no-cost block on the same page
The same page carries a registration block that reads: register now to secure your complimentary pass. It continues in these terms, that Current passes are available at no cost this year, that capacity is limited, and that passes may no longer be available once the event reaches capacity.
So one organiser page holds a ladder that ends at 999 dollars and a block that states passes cost nothing this year. Nothing on the page reconciles the two, and no footnote attaches the no-cost sentence to a category, a quota or a date window.
That is the whole negotiation. The published range is 499 dollars to 999 dollars, and the published floor is zero.
What a planner should pay, and in what order
Get the answer in writing before any card is used. The organiser publishes one registration contact for exactly this class of question, current@regsvc.com, and the same address handles registration transfers and cancellations. Ask which pass a general attendee is entitled to, whether the no-cost allocation still holds, and for the answer as a written price.
If the reply confirms a pass at no cost, pay nothing. If the reply confirms the standard tier, the number to pay is 899 dollars before October 29, because the same pass costs 999 dollars at the door.
Do not treat the venue page as the price authority. It publishes no figure.
The room side is published after the fee, not before
The organiser FAQ answers the room question in one sentence: hotel blocks are available in the confirmation email, all within walking distance of the Moscone Center. A planner cannot price the room before registering, because the block is released only after the registration completes.
The same FAQ assigns the risk to the attendee: cancellations of hotel reservations made directly with a hotel are the responsibility of the attendee.
That order hands the room decision to the organiser. Reverse it, and price the stay independently before the registration is settled. The platform this desk covers sends one offer to 50 or more hotels at the same time across 103,857 or more properties in 46 states, returns accept, counter or decline, and reports responses in 24 to 72 hours with no commission added to the agreed rate. Submission costs nothing and no offer has to be accepted.
The platform's own terms state its service area: the United States, excluding Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington. California sits inside the served area.
The three nights the agenda creates
The published agenda places Tuesday November 3 as a travel day with a speaker welcome reception, then Wednesday November 4 with the main keynote, breakout sessions and lightning talks, the expo hall, networking and the Current Party, then Thursday November 5 with breakout sessions, the expo hall and networking.
An arrival on the Tuesday and a Friday November 6 departure produce the nights of November 3, 4 and 5, which run Tuesday to Thursday. All three sit inside the shoulder band the platform names, Sunday through Thursday, where nights run 20 to 30 percent below peak nights.
Confirmed speakers register free, per the FAQ. A conference registration also transfers to another person inside the same organisation by notifying current@regsvc.com by November 3, 2026. A written transfer right with a date on it carries more value than a 100 dollar rung when the attendee list is unsettled.
When to walk
Walk if the no-cost question comes back without a written price, because a ladder that starts at 499 dollars and a sentence that says passes cost nothing cannot both bind, and the organiser is the only party who can say which one does. Walk if the room cost for the three nights prices above what an independent offer returns, because the published block rate is unpublished and therefore unpriced at the moment of decision.
The demand signal points up. The organiser counts more than 3,000 attendees, more than 100 speakers, more than 50 partners and more than 80 sessions.
If the rate will not move, ask for concessions rather than a lower number. The published list is complimentary breakfast, waived resort fees, free parking, suite upgrades and flexible cancellation terms. On a three-night midweek stay those terms can carry more than the rate cut would.
Then hold the line the page itself prints. An offer that is not accepted costs nothing, and no hotel is obliged to be taken up.
