What the Published $154 Rate Gives a Buyer to Ask For

FAN EXPO Portland 2027 runs January 29 to 31 at the Oregon Convention Center. The show travel page publishes one hotel, one group code and one rate: the Hyatt Regency Portland at Oregon Convention Center, 375 NE Holladay Street, group name G-FAN4, rooms starting at $154 a night. That figure is the number a buyer can work from.

The block, printed as published

The Travel and Hotels page carries one property record. It reads distance 0.2 miles, rating 9.2 out of 10, rate starting at $154 a night, telephone 1-971-754-6184, group name G-FAN4. The book now control points at hyatt.com/events/en-US/group-booking/PDXRP/G-FAN4. That address carries no arrival date and no departure date.

The page opens with its own claim: We have secured exclusive discounted hotel rates just for you. Availability is limited, so book your room now before they sell out.

What the page leaves out

The record names no room type. It names no night range. It names no cut-off date. It states no cancellation term, no deposit, no parking figure and no tax rate. The page prints the words starting at, which marks $154 as the bottom of a range across room types.

The scarcity sentence carries no inventory count. A buyer can ask for the number behind it.

Three bookings in one building on the same weekend

The venue January 2027 calendar lists FAN EXPO Portland in Halls A-A1-B-C from January 29 to 31. It lists two more bookings across the same days: Showstopper Dance Competition 2027 in Hall E for all three days, and the 56th Annual Estate Planning Seminar in Portland Ballroom 253-254-255 on January 29.

The organiser home page puts the crowd at 30,000: Find your fandom family at FAN EXPO Portland. All 30,000 of them. The venue page describes the same show as drawing tens of thousands of fans. One property is named for that crowd, at a published 0.2 miles.

The show clock has two versions

The organiser prints Friday 3 PM to 8 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 7 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. It also prints a special preview on Friday at 1 PM for VIP, Ultimate and 3-Day pass holders who purchase in advance. The venue prints Friday 4 PM to 9 PM, Saturday 10 AM to 7 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. Saturday and Sunday agree on both pages. Friday does not.

A buyer holding a Friday 1 PM preview ticket has a reason to arrive Thursday night. The block page publishes no check-in time.

Three nights, and the fourth

A Friday January 29 arrival with a Monday February 1 checkout is three nights. At the published starting rate that is $462 before tax. A Thursday January 28 arrival makes it four nights and $616. The show closes at 5 PM on Sunday, so a Monday checkout covers the Sunday evening.

Three days of parking against one room night

The venue garage holds 800 spaces. Entrances sit at NE Lloyd Blvd for level P1 and NE First Avenue for level P2, with clearances of 7 feet and 9 feet. The standard daily entry rate is $15 for up to 18 hours, with no in and out privilege. During events a dynamic rate of $15 to $25 is charged at entry. The garage generally opens at 6 AM and can reach capacity on busy days, on a first come first served basis.

The garage bans overnight parking. A guest staying the Friday and Saturday nights needs a hotel parking rate on top of the two room nights.

One date puts the ticket and the room on the same call

Advance ticket pricing ends January 14, 2027 at 11:59 PM PT. The refund deadline is January 15, 2027 at 10 AM PT, and after it all sales are final. The two dates sit about ten hours apart.

The advance ladder: a 3-Day pass at $87 against $98 at regular price. Single days at $34 for Friday, $56 for Saturday and $45 for Sunday, which comes to $135 for the three bought apart. A Saturday family pass at $121 against $172 for two adult Saturday tickets and four child passes at $15 each. A youth single day at $29, $45 and $39 by day. A child pass at $15 for all days.

The room ask and the ticket ask belong on the same call, and that call belongs before January 14.

What to ask, in order

Name the room type behind the $154 figure: king, two queens or suite, and the floor. Ask for the best room type at that number.

Ask for the block window in writing: the arrival and departure nights the code G-FAN4 covers, and the date the block closes.

Ask for the nightly total with every tax and fee itemised by name and amount.

Ask for the cancellation date and the deposit amount.

Ask the fourth night, Thursday January 28, at the same rate.

Ask the parking figure in writing, and which rate applies to a guest of the block.

Ask for a hold to January 14 at no charge, so the room decision lands with the ticket deadline.

Oregon sits inside the service area

hotelhaggle lists 103,857+ hotels across 46 states, free to submit and free of any obligation to book. Its seller-of-travel page names Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington as states it cannot serve. Its help page adds California to that list. Oregon appears on neither list.

A request goes to 50 or more hotels in the destination, with responses typically inside 24 to 72 hours, and the guest pays the hotel directly. A party booking 10 or more rooms submits one group request and lets hotels compete on group rates. A smaller party submits a name-your-price request.
