The entry carries no refund and no transfer

The 50th running of the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic Race Weekend runs February 20 and 21, 2027, in Tampa, with four distances and four challenges. The race FAQ answers the refund question in one paragraph: sale and transfer of race entries and race numbers is strictly prohibited and carries disqualification, all entry fees are non-refundable, and a donation to the Gasparilla Distance Classic Association would be welcome. The half marathon fee table repeats the prohibition for every 2027 event.

The one exit closes at 3 p.m. on Friday, 12 February 2027

Deferral is the remaining route. The FAQ accepts deferrals for the 2027 Publix Gasparilla Half Marathon and for the Michelob Ultra Challenge, the Michelob Ultra Pure Gold Challenge, the Michelob Ultra Lime Cactus Challenge and the Michelob Ultra Zero Challenge until 3 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2027. The published fees are $37 for the half marathon and $47 for a challenge.

That deadline sits nine days before the half marathon start. Online registration stays open until Sunday, February 14, 2027, so a runner who waits for race week has passed the deferral window while still inside the entry window.

What the fee ladder puts at risk

The half marathon ladder runs from $105 in March 2026 to $165 at race weekend, with $130 the tier open from October 1 to November 30, 2026, $145 from December 1 to January 8, and $155 from January 9 to February 14.

The Michelob Ultra Challenge carries a SOLD OUT label and a ladder running $320 to $435, with $365 the tier open from October 1 to November 30, 2026 and race weekend listed as NOT AVAILABLE. The challenge is sold out, so a held entry has the $47 deferral as its route into 2028.

What the association refunds when it cancels

A separate ladder covers a cancellation by the Gasparilla Distance Classic Association: 40 percent refund or a 50 percent discount on a 2028 entry for a call-off on or before September 30, 2026, 30 percent and 40 percent between October 1 and December 31, 2026, and 10 percent and 20 percent between January 1 and February 15, 2027. An entry held today sits in the 30 percent band until the year turns. Optional RegShield coverage, bought at registration, covers injury and illness, severe weather, work travel conflict, layoffs and mechanical breakdowns, with a claim required inside 60 days of the event.

Fifteen dollars of parking that does not come back

The directions and parking page states the day rate in one line: expect to pay $15 for all-day parking with no in-and-out privileges. Fees are set by the City of Tampa and are pre-collected before entering the garage, at Fort Brooke, Pam Iorio, the Tampa Convention Center garage and Whiting.

A car that leaves the garage pays again on re-entry. The half marathon starts at 6:00 a.m. on February 21, with staging access closing at 5:50 a.m. sharp. The 8K starts at 9:15 a.m. Sunday packet pickup runs from 4:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at Ballroom D, and gear check in Meeting Room 125 runs to noon.

What the hotels page publishes

The organiser names the Embassy Suites Tampa Downtown Convention Center as the 2027 official host hotel and states that additional hotels are coming. The city's nearby-hotel list records the property at 513 S. Florida Ave, connected to the convention center by skybridge.

The page carries five Make Reservation links: four Passkey blocks and one Hilton attendee page. One Passkey link opens a Tampa Marriott Water Street record headed Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic Feb2027 and dated February 18 to February 21, 2027. Each block asks for a check-in and a check-out date before it shows a room. None of them publishes a rate, and no organiser page publishes a cancellation term for the room.

The ask, on one page

Florida is one of four states where hotelhaggle cannot process a hotel booking request, under Chapter 559, Florida Statutes, so the request goes straight to the property. Close the message with four lines. One: the Sunday night of February 21 into Monday, February 22, priced and held in writing. Two: the check-in and check-out clocks, since no organiser page publishes a time. Three: the resort or destination fee as its own line, with the parking charge beside it. Four: the cancellation term for the room, printed, because the race entry beside it carries none.

A half marathon deferral to 2028 costs $37 until 3 p.m. on February 12. The Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights are the three the half marathon start requires. An ask that bundles the Sunday night with a late checkout is a small concession against an entry that cannot be refunded, transferred or resold.
