A New Qualifier Puts Its Rooms Behind a Payment Gate
USA Volleyball brings the inaugural Golden Gate Classic Girls Junior National Qualifier to Moscone Center, 747 Howard Street, San Francisco, from Friday 19 February to Sunday 21 February 2027. Divisions cover the 15s, 16s and 17s age groups across Open, USA, Liberty and American. Entry is $925 per team. Credit card payments carry a $25 non-refundable convenience fee, and a check carries none.
Four published dates govern the entry. Registration opened 16 September 2026 at 11 a.m. ET. The registration deadline is 31 December 2026 at 12 a.m. ET. The roster deadline is 1 January 2027 at 5 p.m. ET. The refund deadline is 10 January 2027 at 5 p.m. ET.
Housing Opens on a Status
The event page states that housing is open and that the route to it runs through a status. Only teams in an Ok to Pay status receive a link to book housing. Teams in a Pending or Waitlist status on AES have no access to hotel accommodation. Accepted, the only status that confirms full acceptance, arrives once payment is received and housing is confirmed by Team Travel Source. A club pays the entry fee before it can see a room list.
The Housing Partner Prices This Block to Demand
Team Travel Source is the housing partner the event page names, and its qualifier lander carries the term that governs the rate. The lander reads that TTS Live event rates "are based on demand and subject to change," and that "TTS Live Events do not qualify for the Lowest Rate Guarantee." The partner's group-block guide sets out the mechanism. A coach chooses a room count from a dropdown, picks the check-in and check-out dates, views hotels, holds rooms by bed type for each night, and receives a confirmation email carrying the booking link to send to families. The partner publishes three rooms as the minimum for a group block.
Where the Guarantee Stops and What It Will Not Accept
The Lowest Rate Guarantee is the only published comparison route. The partner offers it for some events, and it runs only until the contracted cut-off date, which the partner describes as approximately one month before the event. Once the rooms are released back to the hotel, remaining inventory can sell below the block price and the guarantee does not reach it.
A valid claim needs an identical comparison of room type, dates, amenities and payment and cancellation terms, at a participating partner hotel listed on the partner site. The partner lists the rate types that do not qualify: rates on Expedia, Travelocity, Hotels.com and Priceline, membership rates such as AAA and AARP, corporate negotiated rates, government rates, hotel employee and friends and family rates, prepaid and non-refundable rates, and rates for an event where the guarantee is not advertised.
Three Exemptions from the Housing Requirement
The partner publishes a page of acceptable documentation and names three exemption categories: using points for an entirely free stay, living in close proximity to the venue, and a military or government discount. Its exemption form sets the proximity test at 75 miles from the venue and states that exemption requests are for individuals only. Separately, the partner states that hotel rewards points cannot be applied to a booking made through the partner, and that no further discount can be applied because the shown rates are already discounted. The exemption for a points stay and the bar on applying points inside the portal are two published terms.
The Room Side Carries Its Own Terms
The refund deadline for the entry fee is 10 January 2027 at 5 p.m. ET, and the refund policy covers a team not accepted into the field with a full refund. The room side carries other terms. A booking service fee is non-refundable. A cancellation fee can apply when a confirmed reservation is cancelled after a date specific to each event and stated in the confirmation email, and it sits on top of the hotel cancellation policy. A Premier Property Fee is mandatory, non-refundable and charged per reservation at booking. Housing Protection is the optional upgrade to refundable terms, bought only at the moment of booking.
Two Published Numbers and One Calendar Fact
The entry cost is $925 plus a $25 card fee, and it is the only rate the event page prints. The room cost is whatever the block returns, priced to demand and outside the guarantee. The calendar settles where the leverage sits. The event runs Friday to Sunday, with practice at Moscone on Thursday 18 February from 4 to 8 p.m. on a one-hour first-come basis, and the last match on the final day starts at 3 p.m. Two of the nights a team needs are the Friday and the Saturday.
The Ask a Club Can Put In Before January 10
A club that prices the block against a direct booking before 10 January 2027 knows the gap while the entry fee is still reversible, and that gap is the number it negotiates from. hotelhaggle states that it serves the United States excluding California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington, so a club sourcing rooms for this San Francisco event takes its entry terms from USA Volleyball and its room terms from Team Travel Source, and reads both against a direct booking.
