Four rates and a cutoff
Kumoricon runs November 13 to 15 at the Oregon Convention Center in Halls A-A1-B-C-D-E. The organiser operates its own hotel programme and publishes four nightly rates, a cutoff date, a cancellation rule and a separate booking link for each property.
The ladder, read on October 18 from the organiser hotels page last updated March 28, 2026: Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center, 375 NE Holladay Street, 0.1 miles, $235 a night. Courtyard Portland Downtown/Convention Center, 435 NE Wasco Street, 0.2 miles, $214. Hotel Eastlund, 1021 NE Grand Avenue, 0.1 miles, $199. DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Portland, 1000 NE Multnomah Street, 0.4 miles, $185. The page states that the rates exclude taxes and fees, and that Portland occupancy taxes run 16.5 percent, subject to change.
The stay the clock requires
The registration FAQ prints the convention hours: Friday 8:00 a.m. to midnight, Saturday 8:00 a.m. to midnight, Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The same entry marks those hours approximate until the schedule is finalised, and notes that registration booths close before programming ends each day.
An 8:00 a.m. Friday opening makes Thursday, November 12 the arrival night. Two midnights in a row keep a guest in the building until the end. The Sunday 4:00 p.m. close leaves the Sunday night empty. That is Thursday to a Sunday checkout, three nights.
One organiser link already assumes that pattern. The Hotel Eastlund booking link carries arrival 2026-11-12 and departure 2026-11-15 with block code KUMORICON26. The DoubleTree link carries arrivalDate 2026-11-13 and departureDate 2026-11-15 with group code CDTKM3, which is two nights and misses the Thursday. The Hyatt link carries the code G-KC26 and no dates. The Courtyard link carries a Marriott group reference and no dates. The page explains the difference in its own terms: start and end dates may be pre-selected, and the guest may set a shorter or longer stay.
Pull the block first
Reservations for the room blocks close on October 21, 2026, three days after this read. The page states that the blocks often sell out before that date.
Pull the badge second
Full weekend membership for ages 13 and over runs $95 through November 7 and $100 at the door. Ages 6 to 12 run $35 at the door. The $65 tier closed February 7. Pre-registration closes November 7, which leaves $5 a head on the table today.
Pull the group discount third
The discount applies to nonprofit educational youth groups. Youths aged 6 to 17 take 30 percent off the at-the-door weekend price, which is $70 against $100 and $24.50 against $35, plus one complimentary adult chaperone membership for every five paid youth memberships.
The trade is a queue. Applications close Saturday, October 24. Notification arrives no later than Saturday, October 31. The membership must be bought by close of pre-registration on Saturday, November 7. Five youth and one chaperone at the door cost $600. Five youth at the group rate with the free chaperone cost $350.
What the cutoff and the 72-hour rule leave to trade
A booking made in an official block carries no fees or penalties for a change or cancellation received at least 72 hours before the check-in date, and changes run through the property. Three days before a Thursday, November 12 arrival is Monday, November 9.
A block room held before October 21 can be released without penalty until November 9. That leaves three weeks to test the published ceiling against a direct request. The organiser states that it receives a portion of any reservation fee made inside the block. Ask the property for its own rate across the three nights and for the cancellation term it attaches. Compare the two in writing before releasing the block room.
Three nights at the published rates, after the 16.5 percent occupancy tax: $821.33 at the Hyatt, $747.93 at the Courtyard, $695.50 at Hotel Eastlund, $646.58 at the DoubleTree. The spread between the highest and the lowest is $174.75 for the same three nights.
The car does not replace the room
The venue garage holds 800 spaces, charges $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privileges, and applies a dynamic $15 to $25 at garage entry during events. Overnight parking is prohibited. A guest who drives in for an 8:00 a.m. Friday start and stays to midnight has no space for the car overnight.
Two pages to check before booking
The organiser location page still carries 2025 body copy under a 2026 header. The venue event page carries the dates, the halls and the parking term, and no housing content. Read the organiser page for the room.
Where this sits in the served territory
Oregon is inside the hotelhaggle service area. Ten rooms or more routes to groupRooms, which sends one request for proposal to properties for group rates. A youth group travelling with chaperones is the shape that request fits.
