MLK Day Brunch 2027: the Portland room terms to settle

A two-hour program with no published price

The Urban League of Portland holds its MLK Day Brunch on Monday 18 January 2027 at the Oregon Convention Center. The venue card names Portland Ballroom 251 and 258 and prints the clock as 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The description lists a community breakfast, reflections and a call to action, with elected officials, community leaders and advocates in the room.

The venue card carries one outbound link labelled Event website, and it opens the home page of ulpdx.org. The organiser's events page at ulpdx.org/get-involved/events read "No events found." on 19 October 2026. No ticket price, registration form, table price or sponsorship tier appears on either site.

The venue costs the rate has to answer

The garage holds 800 spaces. Entry runs from NE Lloyd Blvd on P1, which clears 7 feet, or NE First Avenue on P2, which clears 9 feet. Standard entry costs $15 for up to 18 hours with no in-and-out privilege, and event days carry a dynamic $15 to $25 charged at the gate. The garage opens at 6:00 AM and prohibits overnight parking.

Wireless splits three ways. Complimentary service covers all lobbies and meeting rooms. Basic service costs $12 a day and Business Class $50 a day. Both take a credit card. A two-day stay that needs the paid tier comes to $24, or $100 at the Business Class rate.

Street parking offers a third route. There are 566 metered spaces within three blocks. MAX stops 300 times a day near the front door, the Streetcar A Loop arrives every 15 minutes, and bus line 6 stops at NE MLK and Holladay.

The night the calendar prices

The January 2027 calendar lists twelve events. Hall A carries Major League Table Tennis from 15 to 17 January, so the Sunday night before the brunch falls on that event's closing day. The 18 January listing is the brunch alone.

A Monday 11:00 AM start fits one hotel night for a guest who can hold a late checkout. Price Sunday 17 January and Monday 18 January as separate nights.

Four terms to put in writing

First, parking. Ask whether garage or property parking sits inside the rate. The convention center prohibits overnight parking, so the vehicle stays where the guest sleeps.

Second, wireless, named by tier. Complimentary service covers lobbies and meeting rooms, and the paid tiers are $12 and $50 a day.

Third, a ten-room price for one organisation, with a cutoff date and a release term on rooms the group does not use.

Fourth, an itemised fee schedule: room rate, tax, any destination or amenity fee, parking and the wireless tier.

How to send the ask

hotelhaggle sends one offer to 50 or more hotels, and each property decides whether to accept, counter or decline. Submitting a request is free, the platform adds no commission, and it publishes a 15 to 40 percent savings band across 46 states.

Oregon sits inside the served territory. The seller-of-travel page lists Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington as excluded states, and Oregon is absent from that list.

A group of ten rooms or more goes through grouprooms.org as a group RFP.
