The page names the hotel and stops there
Oregon DECA lists the State Career Development Conference for February 6 to 8, 2027. The page describes a three-day conference and nearly 1,000 students from all over Oregon.
The location line names the property. Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center, 375 NE Holladay Street, Portland, OR.
Both registration deadlines read TBA. The page carries no room rate, no cutoff date, no room type and no cancellation term.
The rule that makes the block captive
The Oregon DECA FAQ answers the hotel question and then closes the exit. All participants, including advisors and chaperones, are required to stay at the conference hotel for the duration of the conference. There are no exceptions to this policy, no matter how close the participants live.
The rule reaches the adults. An advisor must attend and must stay at the conference hotel. Anyone serving as a chaperone or advisor must be 21 or older.
Nearly 1,000 students arrive with staff and chaperones on top of that count. The room decision covers the whole party, in one property, across one weekend.
The fee is bundled and the figure is unpublished
The FAQ ties the room to the registration in one paragraph. A multi-day conference carries a hotel fee alongside the registration fee, and the conference registration guide carries the amount. Both registration and hotel fees fall due before a chapter attends.
That structure hands the organiser the whole room decision. A chapter cannot price the trip from the conference page, and it cannot opt out of the room line.
Two dates for one conference
The organiser prints February 6 to 8. The venue calendar for February 2027 prints February 6 to 9 for Oregon DECA 2027 in Hall B.
February 6 is a Saturday. February 8 is a Monday and February 9 is a Tuesday.
A Saturday arrival with a Monday checkout runs two nights. The same arrival with a Tuesday checkout runs three nights. A Friday February 5 arrival with a Tuesday checkout runs four nights.
The document set includes a rooming list template as Form A2. The deadline that governs the list is unpublished.
Before the guide drops
The conference page links its documents under a heading for the 2026 SCDC. The set names a Registration Guide, a Conference Agenda, a Conference Policy and Procedures document, Form A1 Hotel Information and Form A2 Rooming List Template.
Every one of those links resolves to a members community, and that community returns HTTP 404 to an anonymous request. The prior cycle numbers are not readable from outside.
Membership activation is encouraged by November 15. All students and advisors attending must hold registered DECA membership, and chaperones sit outside that requirement. A chapter needs that step finished before any room count becomes firm.
The building and the garage
The convention center garage holds 800 spaces. Clearance runs 7 feet on P1 and 9 feet on P2, and oversized vehicles are turned away.
Entry reads $15 for up to 18 hours with no in and out privilege, and a dynamic $15 to $25 at the gate during events. The garage opens at 6:00 AM and overnight parking is prohibited.
Transit sits at the door. MAX stops 300 times a day near the main entrance and the streetcar A Loop arrives every 15 minutes. The building takes card and touchless payment only.
February carries a full hall calendar. The Oregon Wine Symposium and the Oregon Wine Board hold Halls D-E and the Portland Ballroom on February 2 and 3, Spotlight Dance Cup holds the Oregon Ballroom from February 5 to 7, and the Oregon International Auto Show takes every hall from February 18 to 21.
What to ask for
Seven asks, sent in one letter to the property before the registration guide publishes.
First, the Oregon DECA group rate per night and the cutoff date in writing.
Second, the room type the rate buys and the occupancy limit per room.
Third, the third night priced on its own, which is February 8 to 9 on the venue calendar.
Fourth, the rooming list deadline and the date unpaid rooms return to inventory.
Fifth, the cancellation date and the deposit amount.
Sixth, the itemised nightly total including tax and any destination or service fee.
Seventh, a no-charge hold that runs until the guide publishes.
How to book it
hotelhaggle lists 103,857+ hotels across 46 states, reports savings of 15 to 40 percent, and adds no fee to the rate. A request reaches 50+ hotels and answers arrive in 24 to 72 hours.
Oregon sits outside the published exclusion list. That list reads Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington, so the name-your-price route runs here. A party booking 10 rooms or more routes to the group request for proposal.
A block of this size prices as one property, one rooming list and one rate. The organiser contact is 541.633.4287 and hello@oregondeca.org.
