The Staybridge Suites rate detail lists a Studio Queen Suite with a sleeper sofa, a maximum of four guests, and a nightly rate of 158 dollars. The listed inclusions are a complimentary fitness center, complimentary in-room internet, a complimentary continental hot breakfast daily, coffee and a pool. Parking sits onsite for a nominal fee. The page states that quoted rates include fees.
State and local taxes are listed at 17 percent per night. Indianapolis carries a 7 percent state sales tax and a 10 percent Marion County innkeeper tax on a room charge, which gives the 17 percent figure. That tax applies to the room rate.
The cancellation policy on the same page asks for a cancellation at least 72 hours before check-in to avoid a charge of one night room and tax. The child policy states that children 17 years and younger stay free with a parent or guardian.
Thursday and Friday show sold out at the 158 dollar property

PASIC runs Wednesday through Saturday. A three-night stay covers Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Two of those three nights show no availability at this property. The Saturday night is the item a group adds when it holds a fourth night, and that night shows availability at 158 dollars.
That gives the trade on the table. A group that needs Thursday and Friday cannot buy them here at any price. A group that can move its arrival and its departure into the nights that show availability keeps the same building and the same rate.
The 29 October deadline is the commitment point
The Percussive Arts Society publishes one refund date. Registration refunds run through October 29, 2026, with a cancellation fee of 50 dollars. No refunds issue for a cancellation after October 29, and the organiser states the cut-off includes attendees who are offered badges by exhibitors. Online registration closes October 29 as well. On-site registration carries no discount. A four-day member badge runs 400 dollars on site, and a four-day student member badge runs 250 dollars on site.
That date sets the moment a delegate either holds the badge or drops it. The badge clock and the housing clock run on separate dates. Ask the property for the housing cut-off in writing, because the refund date says nothing about the room.
Set the walk-away number in all-in dollars
Pick the all-in ceiling the group can defend, then convert it to a room rate. Divide the all-in figure by 1.17 to strip the 17 percent tax.
An all-in 185 dollars a night needs a room rate of 158.12 dollars. An all-in 190 dollars needs 162.39 dollars. An all-in 200 dollars needs 170.94 dollars. The published 158 dollar rate is 184.86 dollars all-in.
State the walk-away number as the all-in figure. The printed rate hides the tax, so a counter at the published figure sits above the ceiling the group agreed.
The skywalk inventory is the supply you price against
The venue publishes its own city figures. Downtown Indianapolis holds 7,100 hotel rooms. Of those, 4,700 rooms connect to the Indiana Convention Center by skywalk. Two hundred downtown restaurants sit within walking distance, and the airport sits 15 minutes away.
Some of that connected supply carries a rate on the MCI list for the same window. A group that will accept a walk of six tenths of a mile reaches the 158 dollar and 159 dollar rates. A group that wants a skywalk link reads the same list for the property that joins the building.
