One Sunday pass, two published prices
PlantCon Dallas runs October 24 and 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Exhibit Hall C at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, 650 S Griffin Street. The ticket page prints a Sunday Discount Day at $39 plus tax and adds a line that the price rises to $45 plus tax on the weekend of the event. It also prints a second Sunday price: the Sunday Appreciation Pass at $23.50 plus tax, available at the box office only, for first responders, seniors, teachers and military who buy in person on site on Sunday.
The page prints the $23.50 beside an additional 40 percent discount line. The two numbers sit side by side and the reader can do the multiplication: 40 percent off $39 arrives at $23.40. The pass is listed at $23.50. Take the printed figure, because that is the number the box office will read.
Three tickets change the arithmetic
The page carries one group rule in its own banner: buy 3 or more tickets and save $5 on each. Three Sunday tickets at $39 come to $117 before tax, and the same three come to $102 with the rule applied. The same three at the box office come to $70.50 before tax at the printed $23.50.
The box office route carries a condition that the online route does not. The pass is sold in person, on Sunday, to members of four named groups, and the discount is taken at the window. The page also states that the Sunday pass covers Sunday only and that Saturday access requires the 2-Day pass.
The price ladder around that Sunday
The 2-Day pass is $49 plus tax and rises to $55 plus tax on the event weekend. The Children pass is $5 and must be bought with an adult ticket. Entry time is sold as a separate product: general admission enters at 10 a.m., the Early Entry pass at 9 a.m. costs $84 plus tax, and the VIP pass at 8 a.m. costs $249 plus tax and carries a $25 workshop credit. The Industry pass enters at 8 a.m. for $495 plus tax. Each tier lists its own inclusions, and the Sunday pass is the only one that states no re-entry.
The organiser runs tickets through Zeffy. The page explains that Zeffy adds a contribution to the cart automatically and that the buyer can change the amount or choose Other to decline it. That line sits below the ladder, so a checkout total will land above the printed ticket price before sales tax is added.
No re-entry, and a building that fills
A Sunday pass admits the holder once between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The venue parking page states its terms in one line: pricing is per day, per entry, with no in and out. The on-site garage at Memorial Drive and South Griffin Street costs $20 and holds 1,200 spots across two levels. Lot C at 502 S Lamar Street costs $17 and holds 170 spots. ACE Parking operates both, and both run first-come, first-served.
Add the ticket rule to the parking rule and the day takes a shape. A Sunday buyer who leaves the hall to move the car pays $20 or $17 again on return. That is the reason a room within walking distance of 650 S Griffin Street is worth pricing on this weekend.
The attendee block is closed, and the page says so
The Hotel Information control on the PlantCon Dallas page resolves to a Passkey event titled PlantCon International Attendee Block, dated October 19 to October 29, 2026, at the Aloft Dallas Downtown, 1033 Young Street, Dallas, TX 75202, phone 214-761-0000. The page carries the status line WEBSITE IS NOW CLOSED and the sentence that the event is now closed to new reservations. It then gives the instruction: due to the proximity of the event dates, contact the hotel directly regarding availability at 214-761-0000.
Two details in that record matter to a buyer holding a quote. The block window ran ten nights, October 19 to October 29, against a two-day event on October 24 and 25. And the block named one property, so every direct quote on this weekend is a quote from one building against a block that no longer sells.
What to put to the hotel before accepting the quote
Ask the property to state the attendee block rate it was holding for the PlantCon dates and whether the direct quote matches it. The block page no longer shows a rate, and the property still holds the number.
Ask for the all-in nightly total, with the local hotel taxes printed as a separate line. The ticket page prints every price as plus tax and leaves the rate off the page, so a room quote needs the same treatment to compare against anything.
Ask for the parking line in writing: self-park or valet, per night or per entry, and whether the garage allows in and out. The venue garage does not, at $20, and a hotel that charges per entry turns a two-night stay into a stack of entries.
Ask for the cancellation term on the room, printed. The room quote may carry nothing, and the room is the larger number.
Ask how far the door is from 650 S Griffin Street in blocks and in minutes on foot. The 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. tickets exist to buy morning time, and the room is the product that delivers it.
Texas is not one of the four states where hotelhaggle cannot process a booking request, so a Dallas request can run through the platform, and the closed block is the reason to send one.
