Two published dates

Spotlight Dance Cup Portland runs February 4 to 7 at the Oregon Convention Center. Two published dates decide the cost of the trip for a studio.

The organiser prints a discount date of December 28. The closing date reads January 4, which the Portland page defines as the last day to register at the standard rate.

The hotel sits on its own line. The Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center holds the SDC group rate at $149 nightly with a cutoff date of January 15.

Eleven days separate the registration closing date from the room cutoff. A studio commits its entries on January 4 and keeps the room decision open until January 15. That gap is the first ask on this row.

What January 4 does to an entry

The rules page states the refund term in one sentence. No refunds will be issued after the Closing Date for an event.

A second line bites on the same day. Accounts not paid in full by the Closing Date adjust from the Savings Rate to the Regular Rate.

The payment ladder tightens behind that date. Personal and studio checks close off, and a credit card becomes the only method inside 20 days.

The entry money is committed on January 4 while the room price stays open for another eleven days. A studio that books after January 15 carries a fixed entry and an unconfirmed block at the same time.

Four nights, one of them provisional

February 4 is a Thursday. February 5 is a Friday, February 6 a Saturday, February 7 a Sunday, and February 8 a Monday.

The tour page sells the Portland weekend as February 4 to 7 under the label THUR. ADDED. The venue calendar for February 2027 reads February 5 to 7 for Spotlight Dance Cup 2027 in the Oregon Ballroom.

The tour page carries the clause that governs that gap. Weekend dates are presented as a range, and Spotlight reserves the right to add or drop days from competition schedules, including Thursdays, when registration warrants.

A Thursday arrival with a Monday checkout prices at four nights, $596 in room rate at $149 before tax. A Friday arrival prices at three nights, $447 before tax.

The Thursday night is a night a studio buys before anyone confirms it. The full schedule lands roughly two weeks before the competition. The room cutoff lands on January 15, which is 20 days before that Thursday and 21 days before the Friday.

The rate the same operator publishes in July

Spotlight sells West Coast Nationals at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas from July 5 to 11, 2027. That page prints rates starting at $154 a night plus taxes and fees, with a cutoff date of Monday June 14, 2027.

The nationals page prints a full cancellation ladder beside the rate. The hotel requires a non-refundable deposit of one night room and tax at booking. A cancellation after the June 14 cutoff at 11:59pm CST converts the entire reservation to full prepayment and it becomes non-refundable.

The Portland page prints $149 nightly and carries no cancellation or refund term.

A written term for the Portland block is the first ask on this row.

One property and one empty control

The Portland page names one hotel. The ADDITIONAL HOTEL CHOICES control carries an empty link target, so the alternatives route does not open.

The RESERVE NOW control points at the Hyatt group booking address under code G-MZR0. That address returns HTTP 403 to a direct request, so live availability and the block terms cannot be read from the link.

The garage decides the room

The convention center garage holds 800 spaces across two entrances. Clearance runs 7 feet on the P1 level and 9 feet on the P2 level.

Standard entry reads $15 for up to 18 hours with no in and out privilege. Event entry runs a dynamic $15 to $25. The garage opens at 6:00 AM and overnight parking is prohibited.

A Thursday to Monday stay parks four times at the event rate, which lands between $60 and $100 before any hourly charge. A room on site removes that line and the morning queue at the gate.

February holds more than one booking in the hall. The Oregon Wine Symposium and the Oregon Wine Board hold Halls D-E and the Portland Ballroom on February 2 and 3.

What to ask for

One call to the property covers seven items.

First, extend the $149 past January 15 to the January 4 registration date, so both decisions land on the same day.

Second, the cancellation date and the deposit amount in writing.

Third, the Thursday night priced as its own line, with a release if the Thursday drops from the schedule.

Fourth, the room type behind the $149 figure.

Fifth, the itemised nightly total including every tax and fee.

Sixth, the parking figure attached to the stay.

Seventh, a no-charge hold that runs through January 4.

How to book it

hotelhaggle lists 103,857+ hotels across 46 states, reports savings of 15 to 40 percent, and adds no fee to the rate. A request goes to 50+ hotels and returns answers in 24 to 72 hours.

Oregon sits outside the published exclusion list. That list reads Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington, so the name-your-price route runs on this row. A party booking 10 rooms or more routes to the group request for proposal.

The brand's help page states that shoulder season or mid-week dates raise the chance a hotel accepts an offer. This weekend carries a Thursday and a Sunday inside that band.
