Two halls, two days
January 9 and 10 are the only days in the month when two public halls run at the Oregon Convention Center. The Build, Remodel & Landscape Show holds Hall A from January 8 to 10. The Aloha Portland Showdown holds Halls B-C on January 9 and 10. The venue calendar lists twelve events for January 2027, and these two overlap.
Saturday January 9 carries both audiences. Thursday January 7 carries exhibitors alone. Ask a property to quote both nights and put the Saturday figure in writing.
What the show publishes
The venue page gives the run in Hall A: Friday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The organizer, L&L Exhibition Management, prints the same three windows against Hall A/A1 at 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard.
Admission is $5 for adults and free for children under 18. The Portland show page carries a field that reads "Please enter email to receive free admission (a $10 value)". The venue lists 800.374.6463. The organizer carries the same number, info@homeshowcenter.com and a show manager on 612-213-9200.
No block, no rate
The venue page, the Portland show page and the exhibitor information PDF carry no hotel line, no room block, no cut-off and no nightly rate. A buyer starts against the market.
Oregon is outside the four states where the brand cannot take a booking request: Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington.
The exhibitor clock starts January 6
The exhibitor information PDF carries the shape of this row. Move-in opens Wednesday January 6 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., runs Thursday January 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and closes Friday January 8 from 9 a.m. to noon for hand-carried and carted loads only. The PDF asks exhibitors to bring their own cart. Booths marked TH move in Thursday after 4 p.m. Booths marked F move in Friday morning.
Move-out runs Sunday January 10 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday January 11 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Anything still standing after 11 a.m. Monday is moved by the decorator at the exhibitor's expense, and the PDF asks that valuable electronics leave on Sunday night.
Read the windows against the public hours and the cohorts separate. An exhibitor on the Wednesday move-in needs five nights, from January 6 to a January 11 checkout. An exhibitor on Thursday needs four. An exhibitor with a Friday booth needs two. A member of the public needs one.
Badges are collected during move-in at the exhibitor check-in desk near the loading docks. Hall A is reachable from the North Loading Dock only inside the printed move-in and move-out windows.
What the garage does to a five-night stay
The venue garage holds 800 spaces and charges $15 for up to 18 hours, with no in-and-out privileges. Event entry runs $15 to $25. The garage opens at 6 a.m. and prohibits overnight parking. The OCC states that the garage can reach capacity and that space is first-come, first-served. The booths take cards only. P1 clearance is 7 feet and P2 is 9 feet, and 566 metered spaces sit within three blocks.
Five daily entries across a Wednesday-to-Monday stay run $75 to $125. The garage prohibits overnight parking, so the car stands where the guest sleeps. Parking belongs inside the rate on this row.
What to quote on Thursday
No page on this show publishes a nightly rate. The pages do give the order for pricing the nights. Thursday January 7 is a move-in day with one hall working and no public gate. Saturday January 9 is a show day with two halls working, and it is the only Saturday in the month with that shape. Quote Thursday as the substitution and hold Saturday as the scarce night.
Sunday carries one more ask. Move-out runs to 9 p.m. on January 10 and a standard checkout sits near noon. An exhibitor who checks out on Sunday morning has no room for the nine hours of teardown that follow. Late checkout, or a Sunday night at a shoulder rate, closes that gap.
The request
Put five items in the request: a Thursday January 7 rate beside a Saturday January 9 rate; the parking figure itemized or included; the cancellation date and any deposit date; late checkout for the Sunday teardown; and every mandatory charge by name and amount in writing.
Size decides the route. Ten rooms or more goes in as one group request and lets hotels compete on group terms. A smaller party names a price and hotels respond within 24 to 72 hours, with the offer going to 50 or more properties. The brand publishes 103,857 hotels across 46 states.
Check the dates on any quote. The move-in PDF is dated to this edition, so a property quoting 2026 dates is quoting the wrong week. Write the stay as January 6 arrival, January 11 departure, five nights, Hall A.
