Four days at the Expo Center

Rose City Classic runs Jan. 21 to 24, 2027, at the Portland Expo Center. The organiser's page lists the venue at 2060 N. Marine Drive, Portland, Oregon 97217.

Four all-breed shows run across the four days, with breed specialties and a Terrier group show staged by local AKC clubs. Conformation, junior showmanship, obedience, Rally and agility run on all four days. Entries close Jan. 6, 2027, an early closing date.

The transport terms

The exhibitor page states the terms in one sentence: "Portland International Airport (PDX) is only 15-20 minutes from the Rose City Classic host hotel. Please note that the host hotel does not provide a shuttle from the airport to the hotel."

Price a car from PDX to the Hayden Island address before the call. Ask for a credit against the fare you were quoted, and put the fare in the request.

Ask on the same call for a late checkout on the departure day and parking for one vehicle with in-and-out access.

The MAX line covers the trip

The exhibitor page publishes the transit option: "A short 30 minute ride from downtown Portland, the MAX Yellow Line directly serves the Portland Expo Center. Upon arrival, you will cross the Expo parking lots west under a covered walkway."

TriMet takes trip questions at 503-962-7660.

A handler who stays downtown and rides the Yellow Line needs no airport transfer and no daily parking entry. Name the station on the call.

Air: $50 to $100 a passenger

The association publishes an airline discount for the 2027 cycle. Alaska Airlines offers Rose City Classic passengers 7 percent off its lowest published fares for trips between Jan. 18 and Feb. 1, 2027. The association states the discount "can amount to a savings of $50.00-$100.00 for each passenger" and names the fare code ECMQ338.

Seven percent of a $700 fare is $49. Seven percent of a $1,400 fare is $98. The published $50 to $100 range matches fares from roughly $700 to $1,400.

Enter the code at alaskaair.com. The association states that the group desk route carries a $30.00 per person ticketing fee. Alaska also charges $150.00 each way to fly a dog.

The published block link points at the 2026 run

The hotel reservation page links a Passkey block. On Oct. 20, 2026 that link resolved to an event titled "Rose City Dog Classic - Dog Fanciers 2026," dated January 14, 2026 to January 18, 2026, carrying the lines "WEBSITE IS NOW CLOSED" and "This event is now closed to new reservations."

The exhibitor page states that reservations for the January 2027 event open Oct. 15, 2026. The hotel reservation subpage still prints July 5, 2025, for a January 2026 arrival.

Call (503) 283-4466, ask for the Rose City Classic rate on the January 2027 dates, and ask for the confirmation in writing.

The block page publishes no nightly rate for either cycle. The association page publishes none. Request the rate and the cancellation term together on one confirmation.

Parking

The Expo Center publishes "Parking is typically $15 per car per entry" and warns that special-event prices may vary. The prior-cycle spectator page on the association site prints $13.

The exhibitor page reads that reserved parking information will sit in the premium list, due mid to late November 2026.

Confirm the figure at the gate.

The stay from the first ring

The prior-cycle spectator page publishes the daily shape. The building opens to the public at 7:30 a.m. Official hours run 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and variety group and Best in Show judging sometimes run later. Breed judging and agility start at 8 a.m.

That clock makes Wednesday Jan. 20 the arrival night for a Thursday first ring, and Sunday Jan. 24 the departure day. Four nights sit in front of the show.

The 2027 schedules stand unpublished. The association page asks readers to check back around Jan. 10 for ring times.

The order of the ask

Four nights from Wednesday Jan. 20. The Rose City Classic rate for those dates, in writing. An airport transfer or a credit against the fare you were quoted from PDX. Parking for one vehicle with in-and-out access. A late checkout on the departure day.

Each item is a separate ask.
