What the pages print
The Oregon Burn Center Safety Fair and Chili Cookoff runs Saturday, February 13, 2027. The Portland Expo Center page places it in Hall D, with hours of 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and free admission. The parking line reads: Parking compliments of Oregon Burn Center. The venue address is 2025 North Expo Road, Portland, Oregon 97217.
The organiser page carries the same clock and the same venue: Saturday Feb. 13th, 2027, 12pm to 3pm, Portland Expo Center. It publishes no ticket price. The door takes no money.
The 2026 numbers
The organiser page lists 900 community members through the door, 14 chili teams and 22 community agencies for 2026. Those three figures are the volume reference the page publishes.
Tasting packages let a guest sample chili from every team and vote. A guest can also taste a few favourites à la carte. The page publishes no price for either.
What the pages leave open
No page publishes a hotel block, a room rate, a group code or a cut-off date. The words hotel and lodging appear on neither the venue event page nor the organiser page. The venue area page carries a Places to Stay - Hotels button, and that button resolves to a Travel Portland page for Jantzen Beach hotels.
A guest opening this conversation has no published rate to answer to. The first number in the exchange comes from the hotel side.
One night
February 13, 2027 falls on a Saturday, and the fair closes at 3:00 PM. The stay this event supports is one night, with an arrival on Friday February 12 or Saturday February 13 and a departure the following morning. A two-night minimum runs past what the schedule prints.
The one cost the pages carry
The venue parking page states: Parking is typically $15 per car per entry, and adds that prices may vary due to demand during special events. The event page states that the organiser covers parking, so a guest arriving by car pays nothing at the gate.
At one car per visitor and the standard rate, 900 visitors come to $13,500. That is the one published cost figure attached to this event.
The venue page names the TriMet MAX Yellow Line and places the Expo Center station a short walk from the entrance. It states that several TriMet bus routes serve the area and names none of them. It publishes no fare.
What the volume supports
900 people across three hours is 300 an hour. Spread over 14 teams it is 64 visitors a team, and over 22 agencies it is 41. The fair ends at 3:00 PM, so a guest who came for the chili has the rest of Saturday free.
The organiser places the event inside National Burn Awareness Week, which it describes as the first full week of February every year.
The terms to ask for in writing
Ask for the rate on the single night of February 13, 2027. Ask for the same Saturday rate one week earlier and one week later. Ask for a cancellation window. Ask whether the rate includes parking and whether the property runs a shuttle to 2025 North Expo Road.
Ask for the distance from the property to Hall D. Ask whether breakfast service opens before 11:00 AM, given a noon start. Ask for a named group contact. No page on this event answers any of those questions.
Where the ask lands
The network covers 46 states. Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington restrict name-your-price bookings under state travel laws. Oregon carries no restriction in that set, so the request route opens in this market.
A request for one Saturday night sent to the hotels near 2025 North Expo Road returns offers that can be compared side by side. The organiser has committed to covering guest parking, so a property that bundles a room, a parking pass and a shuttle prices against a cost the organiser has shown it will pay.
