A published price ladder on an unpriced ask

Leap Arts in Education runs the 44th Annual Sandcastle Classic on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at Ocean Beach at Balboa Street. The beach window is 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free and the public drops in without registering.

The sponsors page prints a price on every rung. The Presenting Sponsor rung, Sandcastle Event Sponsor, is 25,000 dollars. The Premier Sponsor rung, Sandcastle Stage Sponsor, is 10,000 dollars. The Premier Sponsor rung, Community Castle Sponsor, is 5,000 dollars. The Building Sponsor rung, Promo Item and Award Sponsor, is 3,000 dollars. The Building Sponsor rung, Water Monster, is 3,000 dollars. The Supporting Sponsor rung, Pre and Post Event Sponsorships, is 1,000 dollars. The Supporting Sponsor rung, Classroom Design Session, is 1,000 dollars. The Supporting Sponsor rung, Branded Beach Booth, is 500 dollars.

Eight rungs carry six distinct amounts, from 500 dollars to 25,000 dollars. A hotel asked for a community partnership or a donated weekend stay now has the price the organiser prints. Hold the quote against the rung the ask matches.

What each rung buys

The 25,000 dollar rung carries top co-branding on all formats and every sponsorship benefit. The event presents as YAX/Leap plus the sponsor name.

The 10,000 dollar rung carries the Sandcastle Stage, with local artists and student performers. The page puts the stage brand in front of 5,000 or more community members, families and sandcastle teams.

The 5,000 dollar rung carries the Community Castle, where community members and youth who are not on an official team build.

The two 3,000 dollar rungs carry inventory. One covers a branded item handed out on the beach, or the awards given to each team. The other covers the branded water tank that fills bottles for competitors and beachgoers.

Each 1,000 dollar rung carries a pre-event or post-event slot, or a classroom design session led by architecture, design, engineering and construction professionals. The 500 dollar rung carries a six-foot table near the entrance.

The two printed deadlines

The sponsors page states that logos and materials must be submitted by October 1, 2026. That was a Thursday, 23 days before the event.

Team registration has closed. Individual participant registration runs through October 15, 2026.

The packet prints a different premier price

The sponsors page carries its packet as four page images. Page one prints PRESENTER at 25,000 dollars, PREMIER at 15,000 dollars and COMMUNITY at 5,000 dollars. Page two names the Premier Sponsor, Sandcastle Stage Sponsor, at 15,000 dollars. The page text prints that same rung at 10,000 dollars.

Page two names the 5,000 dollar rung the Community Sponsor, Community Castle Sponsor. The page text names it the Premier Sponsor, Community Castle Sponsor. Page three names the two 1,000 dollar rungs Pre Event and Beach Day Activities. The page text names them Pre and Post Event Sponsorships and Classroom Design Session.

Page four prices website advertising. A box ad with a link is 250 dollars. A banner ad with a link is 400 dollars. The packet runs those ads through November 2, 2026.

Three rungs carry different names across the two documents, and one rung carries two figures. Name the rung, name the figure, and ask the organiser to confirm in writing which document is current.

What the ask buys in reach

The audience figure prints four ways. The home page reads over 5,000 people. The sponsors page reads nearly 5,000. The packet reads 5,000 beach participants. The Stage rung reads 5,000 or more.

The student figure prints three ways. The FAQ reads 8,500 students across 30 schools each year. The page footer reads over 8,000 in more than 30 elementary schools. The packet reads nearly 10,000 Bay Area public school students.

Priced against 5,000 beachgoers, the 500 dollar rung costs 10 cents a head, the 1,000 dollar rung costs 20 cents, the 3,000 dollar rung costs 60 cents, the 5,000 dollar rung costs 1 dollar, the 10,000 dollar rung costs 2 dollars, the 15,000 dollar rung costs 3 dollars and the 25,000 dollar rung costs 5 dollars.

The packet states 64,000 website visitors in recent years. The 250 dollar box ad and the 400 dollar banner ad each land under one cent a visitor.

The 2026 Teams page lists 20 teams. The organiser states it accepts a maximum of 30. The event page states 100 percent of proceeds go to arts education programs, against a 2026 goal of 300,000 dollars.

The room side publishes no price

Across the organiser pages read, room block, lodging, accommodation and where to stay return zero hits. The word hotel appears twice, both inside judge biographies. There is no block, no partner property, no group code and no cutoff for October 24.

The sponsorship ladder is the only printed price on this event. A hotel quoting an October weekend rate has no published room rate to answer to.

The San Francisco directory on this domain prints three property counts in one view and no rate. The three counts all read 562, and the only dollar figure on that page is the zero fee line.

The numbers to carry into the ask

Price the request against the rung it matches. A six-foot table near the entrance prints at 500 dollars. A branded item handed out on the beach prints at 3,000 dollars.

Saturday, October 24 sits outside the shoulder band this platform defines as Sunday through Thursday. An October weekend quote carries no shoulder discount.

Ask for the concession list where the rate holds. The published list is complimentary breakfast, waived resort fees, free parking, suite upgrades and flexible cancellation terms.

Send the room request to 50 or more properties at once. Responses arrive in 24 to 72 hours. There is no obligation and no markup. Most hotels quote group rates from 10 rooms a night, and some discount from five.

Four states restrict name-your-price bookings under state travel laws: Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington.

The material date has passed and the ladder is still printed. The rung price is the benchmark either way.
