The block publishes a rate the page does not match
The Hotels link in the Shamrock Run Fest menu opens a HotelPlanner block titled Shamrock Run 2027, dated 12 to 14 March 2027. The block carries one property, Embassy Suites by Hilton Portland Downtown at 319 SW Pine St. Its payload carries a base price of $120.22 a night, and the card renders that as Starting at $120.
The organiser's own hotels page prints a second figure for the same address: RATES: FROM $174 PER NIGHT, including a 3.00 percent mandatory charge per stay and excluding tax. The block figure states no treatment of that charge and no tax treatment.
Those two lines are $53.78 apart on one address, and the block line is 31 percent below the page line. Over the two nights of the window that is $107.56 before tax. Any property quoting above $120.22 has to explain a gap the organiser published itself.
The window runs Friday to Sunday
12 March 2027 is a Friday, 13 March a Saturday and 14 March a Sunday. The half marathon starts at 7:20 a.m. on the Sunday. The 8K goes at 9:00, the Stride walk at 9:50, the Leprechaun Lap at 10:20 and the 5K at 11:15.
The block window is two nights, Friday and Saturday. A runner racing at 7:20 on Sunday morning needs the Saturday night. The Friday night is optional, and the Sunday night sits outside the window. The block's required-nights field reads 0, so no minimum stay is enforced.
Availability is published night by night in the same payload. Forty-seven room-nights on the Friday and forty-six on the Saturday, ninety-three in total. Treat the block as a floor.
The cut-off is 11 February 2027
The block expiration date is 11 February 2027, a Thursday and 31 days before the race. After that date the block price no longer applies. The payload carries no deposit term and no cancellation ladder, which leaves the cut-off as the only date it names.
Breakfast is described two ways
The block notes list complimentary guestroom wifi, a complimentary full hot buffet breakfast daily in the Arcadian Garden, early access to a light breakfast on race day Sunday 14 March 2027, and a fitness center open 24 hours.
The hotels page describes the same property as offering free hot made-to-order breakfast, a complimentary evening reception, an indoor pool, hot tubs and a sauna. A buffet and a made-to-order service are two different products on the same event estate. Ask which one the 2027 rate covers before treating breakfast as part of the comparison.
The registration ladder is the third lever
Every distance page publishes a four-stage ladder. Half marathon: early access sold out, current release $95, final release from $136, previous release sold out. The 8K is $55 and from $75 at final release. The Stride walk is $39 and $55. The 5K is $42 and $59. The Leprechaun Lap is $20 and $35.
The $41 gap between the current and final release on the half marathon is set by the organiser and does not move a room rate. Register at $95, then run the room call inside the same window so the two deadlines do not land in the same week.
Which lever to pull first
Block comparison first. The $53.78 a night spread is the largest measured gap here and it is already published, so print the block rate in the request and ask each property to meet or beat it.
Two nights second. A Saturday-only stay covers the race morning, and the block enforces no minimum, so a single night at the block price is a legitimate ask.
Final release third. It is a fixed clock set by the organiser, and no hotel conversation changes it.
Two details to confirm in writing
The hotels page still heads the property THE OFFICIAL HOST HOTEL OF SHAMROCK RUN 2025, on a page titled for 14 March 2027. Its Book your stay and Reserve now controls point to hilton.com/en/attend-my-event/shamrockrunportland2026/, and the property link resolves to the Embassy Suites Portland Downtown page on hilton.com.
Ask the property to confirm the 2027 rate, the room types and the booking route in writing. The page lists three room types, and a group asking for a suite is asking for a different price than the studio.
Where the request goes
hotelhaggle sends one request to 50+ hotels in the destination. The block payload sets a minimum sub-block size of 5 and a maximum of 20. The platform lists four states it cannot serve under seller-of-travel rules, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington. Oregon sits outside that list.
One property, ninety-three room-nights, a published $120.22 and an 11 February cut-off give the call three numbers: the floor, the inventory and the date.
