The weekend the venue and the organiser publish
Starpower brings its Portland regional to the Oregon Convention Center. The venue calendar lists the competition on 6 and 7 March 2027, in Halls A-A1. The organiser schedule lists 5 to 7 March.
Both pages name the same building and the same weekend. The organiser publishes the longer run. A competing studio plans on the Friday.
The room rate the organiser publishes
The organiser lists one hotel for Portland. The Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center sits at 375 Northeast Holladay Street, telephone 971 222 1234. The record carries a rate of 219 dollars a night, single or double occupancy.
A release date of 11 February 2027 sits on the record, with a booking link under the code G-MCR0.
The record publishes no inclusion list and no cancellation term. Ask for both in writing.
Two nights, or three
A Saturday arrival through a Sunday close prices two nights at 438 dollars. A Friday arrival prices three nights at 657 dollars. Both figures sit before tax.
The organiser schedule decides which one a competing studio needs.
Two published rates at one address
The Oregon GOSH conference runs in Halls D-E from 2 to 4 March. Its travel page names this hotel as the host and puts the property across the street from the convention center. That block reads from 161 dollars a night plus tax, with a cut-off of 7 February 2027 and the code G-GOS1.
The two rates sit at one address inside one week. The conference rate is 58 dollars lower, a gap of 36 percent.
Three nights cost 657 dollars at the dance rate. Three nights cost 483 dollars at the conference rate. The difference is 174 dollars for the same rooms in the same week.
The charges the organiser holds
Three organiser charges sit outside the room rate.
Entry deposits run 10 dollars a routine. The organiser states the deposit is non-refundable. Twenty routines carry 200 dollars. The rule sets 1 October 2026 as the deposit deadline, which has passed.
Cancellation returns nothing. The rule reads that refunds will not be offered for cancellations. The one route out is an injured dancer with a doctor's note. Funds can move to another Star Dance Alliance competition where a credit sits on the account.
Deposit funds are non-transferable to another Star Dance Alliance brand inside 59 days of an event where a studio withdraws its entire attendance. That window opens on 5 January 2027, 37 days before the block releases.
Change fees follow the same clock. A level, roster or category change costs 10 dollars at 30 days out, 25 dollars at 20 days and 50 dollars under 10 days.
The tier inside the deadline
Portland registration closes on 5 February 2027, 28 days before the Friday opening. Pricing runs three tiers on the finalised registration date: 60 days or more, 30 to 59 days, and 29 days or fewer.
A studio that finalises on the deadline lands in the third tier. Finalising on 3 February puts the same registration in the second tier. The gap between the two dates is two days.
The room block releases on 11 February, six days after registration closes.
What sits outside the room rate
The venue garage charges 15 dollars for up to 18 hours. Entry on an event day runs 15 to 25 dollars. It opens at 6 in the morning, holds 800 spaces and prohibits overnight parking. Three days of parking runs 45 to 75 dollars.
The stage rules carry charges of their own. Extended prop time runs 25 to 100 dollars by length. A soiled marley floor carries a 500 dollar clean-up fee. A returned e-check carries a 50 dollar penalty.
Schedules are created 7 to 10 days out from the event.
The Saturday the building fills
Five events run at the Oregon Convention Center across 5 to 7 March. Starpower holds Halls A-A1 and Jump Dance Convention holds the Oregon Ballroom. Slam Dunk Cheer and Dance Championships takes Hall D, the U.S. World Open Taekwondo Championships takes Hall E, and the Abby's Closet prom gown giveaway takes Hall C. All five run on Saturday 6 March.
The Materials Show fills Halls A-A1-B from 3 to 4 March. The building runs full into the weekend.
What to ask, and what to leave alone
Ask for the rate in writing with G-MCR0 named on the confirmation. Ask for the release date to hold past 11 February if the studio registers late.
Ask why the same hotel charges 161 dollars three days earlier. Put the GOSH figure in the request.
Ask what the 219 dollars covers. The record publishes no inclusion list, so breakfast, parking and any destination charge stay open questions.
Ask for a cancellation date that matches the 59-day line on the deposits. Two terms that expire in different months leave a cancelled trip carrying two losses.
Ask for a Sunday checkout hold. The venue lists a Sunday close and the programme runs into the afternoon.
Leave the deposit and the entry tier alone. Ten dollars a routine is set, the no-refund rule is set and the 59-day cap is set. The rate, its release, its inclusions and its cancellation date are the movable lines.
For ten rooms or more, submit one group request and let hotels compete on it. Oregon carries no restriction on the name-your-price route. Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington do.
