A Summit That Publishes No Room Terms

The National BBCB Summit holds its 20th edition at the Tampa Convention Center from March 2 to March 5, 2027. The City of Tampa calendar carries the dates, the hall and a description. That description reports more than 400 participants from more than 150 educational institutions, and 800 community members.

The pages publish no room rate, no room block, no group code and no cut-off date. The event detail link on the city page resolves to a Cvent page titled "Archived Event - 19th Annual National BBCB Summit", dated March 4 to 7, 2026, and that page reads "Sorry! This page doesn't exist anymore." Hillsborough College, which founded the summit in 2006, links the same Cvent address. The college's sitemap lists no 2027 page.

A group of 400 arrives at a venue with 26 published properties and no published terms. Send the first request to the connected property, and put its quote in front of the other twenty-five.

Twenty-Six Properties From 0.2 to 9 Miles

The convention center publishes a nearby hotel list of 27 entries and 26 distinct properties, because Le Meridien Tampa, The Courthouse appears twice, at 0.7 miles and at 1 mile. No entry carries a rate.

Two properties carry 0.2 miles. Six carry 0.3 to 0.6. Four carry 0.7 to 0.9. Four carry 1 mile, and one of those is the repeated Le Meridien entry. Three carry 1.1 to 1.4. Four carry 2 to 2.5. Aloft and Element Tampa Midtown carries 4.1 miles, Tampa Airport Marriott 8.4, and Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Brandon 9. Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Convention Center carries the skybridge note and no distance figure.

The Sky-Bridge Room Is the Anchor

Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Convention Center sits at 513 S. Florida Ave. The venue page describes the property as connected to the convention center via Sky Bridge. The phone is (813) 769-8300. An attendee staying there walks indoors from the room to the session floor.

That property receives the first call, and its quote becomes the reference for the other twenty-five. Two more properties carry 0.2 miles on the same page. Tampa Marriott Water Street sits at 700 S. Florida Ave. on (813) 221-4900, and JW Marriott Tampa Water Street sits at 505 Water Street on (813) 221-4950. Two downtown quotes on the same walk, for the same three nights and the same room count, give a planner a written counter.

The Parking Band Carries No Unit

The venue parking page prices the convention center garage at 141 E. Brorein Street at an event rate of $5.00 to $50.00. The garage holds 454 spaces. Pam Iorio at 301 Channelside Drive, Fort Brooke at 107 N. Franklin Street, William F. Poe at 802 N. Ashley Drive and Twiggs Street at 901 E. Twiggs Street carry the same band. Selmon Expressway West at 201 S. Ashley Drive carries a flat event rate from $5.00 to $50.00.

Non-event parking runs $3 an hour with an $18 daily maximum. Selmon West and the Selmon CAMLS lot run $2 an hour with a $14 maximum, and CAMLS opens on weekends only. Front Drive holds 36 metered spaces at $4 an hour with no overnight parking. The parking division answers at (813) 274-8179.

The band carries no billing unit, so the event rate the garage sets decides a vehicle's cost. A group that writes a parking rate into the room agreement fixes that number.

Three Nights and 1,200 Room-Nights

March 2 is a Tuesday and March 5 is a Friday. A Tuesday arrival with a Friday departure covers three nights. Four hundred participants at one per room is 1,200 room-nights. The same 400 at two per room is 200 rooms and 600 room-nights. One hundred rooms across the three nights is 300 room-nights.

A club that asks for 400 rooms is asking for 1,200 room-nights over three nights, so state the room count and the night count together. A 133-room block carries 399.

The Terms to Settle in Writing

Five terms turn an open market into a contract. Fix the cut-off date, the day the property releases unbooked rooms to general sale. Fix the release rate, which applies to a room booked after the cut-off. Fix the attrition figure, the share of the block the group must fill. Fix the parking arrangement, with the number of spaces and the rate. Fix the deposit and cancellation ladder, with the date each penalty begins.

Add one room-mix term. Ask how many double queen rooms the property holds and how many king rooms. The mix decides whether the block fits the delegation.

Why the Request Goes to the Property

hotelhaggle.org publishes its seller of travel position on a page last updated October 21, 2026. The platform cannot process hotel booking requests from residents of or for travel to Florida, Hawaii, Iowa or Washington. Florida requires seller of travel registration under Chapter 559 of the Florida Statutes, and the page states that the registration is not held. The restriction covers grouprooms.org, hotelhaggle.org, hotelslots.org, bookmyteam.org and partners.hotelhuddle.com. Questions go to compliance@hotelhuddle.com.

A Tampa block goes to the properties and to the venue, and that route reaches the desk that grants the rate. The city calendar carries a Free/Open to the public field reading Yes. No reachable page publishes a delegate fee, and registration stays with Hillsborough College and the summit host.

The Order of Calls

Embassy Suites sky bridge first, on the published phone number. The two Water Street properties second, on the same day, with the same three nights and the same room count. The Ybor City and airport properties after the downtown quotes arrive, with those numbers attached. Ask every property for the cut-off date in writing.
