Sunday closed while October is still running
The organiser marks every Sunday distance sold out. The Sunday events page carries Sold Out above the course description. The pricing table repeats the word on each line: Half Marathon in the run and walk divisions, Marathon, 50K Ultra Marathon and the Legacy Runner entry.
Sunday December 13, 2026 starts at 8:00 a.m. from Dallas City Hall Plaza, 1500 Marilla Street. The same page states that no packet pick-up is available on race morning.
A closed field is the strongest fact a buyer carries into a rate conversation. The runners are committed, the entry money is spent, and the hotel date cannot move. Every runner still needs a bed within reach of an 8:00 a.m. start.
Five properties, and the one that anchors the ask
The Hotel and Travel page names five downtown properties. Omni Dallas Hotel at 555 S Lamar Street holds the official headquarter hotel label and the phone number (214) 744-6664. Aloft Dallas Downtown sits at 1033 Young Street. Hyatt Regency Dallas sits at 300 Reunion Boulevard. TownePlace Suites Dallas Downtown and Fairfield Inn & Suites Dallas Downtown share the address 555 Evergreen Street.
The page carries one rate sentence and no figure: special room rates will be reserved at several nearby hotels including the Omni Dallas, the official headquarter hotel. That sentence is the whole published offer. The page prints no nightly rate, no block code and no cut-off date.
The Book your room control resolves to a reservetravel.com address that names its own stay pattern in the query string: check-in 12/10/2026, four nights, five property identifiers and a group-supply token. The booking host returns a security challenge to an automated request, so no rate is readable from it. The pattern is readable, and it is a four-night Thursday arrival.
What four nights buys a runner
The Health and Fitness Expo runs Friday December 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday December 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. inside Exhibit Hall A at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, 650 South Griffin Street. Packet pickup happens there and only there.
A Thursday arrival puts the runner in the expo queue on Friday morning. A Sunday night hold keeps the room through the finish, the post-race party and the drive home. A four-night Thursday arrival covers both mornings. A Friday-to-Sunday quote stops at checkout on Sunday.
The add-on spend per runner
The Pegasus Runners Lounge sells a Saturday pass at $44 for 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and a Sunday pass at $74 for 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The listed amenities are a heated private tent near the start and finish line, private gear check, pre-race snacks and beverages, a post-race brunch and climate-controlled restrooms. Parking is not included and the page marks the space as limited.
The rest of the add-on ladder runs the same way. A commemorative poster costs $15. An official race photo and video package costs $39.95. Medal personalisation with an iTab costs $15. A custom race frame print costs $89.99, and a photo and medal holder costs $69.99. A runner who has paid $74 for a tent on race morning has already priced the finish area into the weekend, and that figure is the one to quote when a property asks why the room needs to be close.
How to frame the ask
Anchor the request on the Omni at 555 S Lamar Street and ask for the group rate against that address. The property carries the headquarter label, so the organiser has already told every visitor where the centre of gravity sits. A quote at a second property measures against that anchor.
Ask for two windows in the same request: December 10 to 14 and December 12 to 14. The first matches the published four-night pattern. The second prices the Sunday night on its own, and the difference between the two quotes is what the finish night costs.
Add three terms to the request. Ask for the cancellation window in writing. Ask what the parking charge is per night, because the organiser states that downtown Dallas carries paid parking only. Ask for the walking distance to 1500 Marilla Street. A property that answers all three gives a figure that can be compared with the block.
Two clocks the pages disagree on
The venue listing prints a date field of December 11 to 12, 2026 and then prints December 11 to 13 in the body copy that follows it. The organiser site is the authority on the race: Saturday December 12 carries the 10K at 8:00 a.m., the 5K and 5K Team at 8:10 a.m., the 5K Walk at 8:15 a.m., the kids 100 meter dash at 10:00 a.m. and the Oncor kids race at 11:00 a.m. Sunday December 13 carries the marathon, half, half walk and 50K at 8:00 a.m. The date field on the venue page describes the packet pickup window and the body describes the race weekend, so both lines belong in the file.
Getting the quotes
hotelhaggle sends one request for proposal to hotels in the destination at no charge. The platform publishes 50 or more properties per request, no commission added to the rate, a 24 to 72 hour response window and no obligation to book. Texas sits inside the service area. Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington sit outside it on the seller-of-travel page dated October 22, 2026.
Submit the December 12 to 14 window first, because the Sunday field is the one that closed. Add the Thursday arrival to the same request. A property that holds inventory on the sold-out night has the reason to quote, and the sold-out field is the sentence that opens the conversation.
