The Dallas block carries a housing requirement

Spirit Celebration Christmas Grand Nationals runs December 5-6, 2026 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas. The venue assigns Exhibit Halls B and C plus the C Ballroom at 650 South Griffin Street. Varsity's event page prints the performance order and leaves the housing term off.

Team Travel Source carries the housing term. Its exemption form lists the event as 2026 - Spirit Celebration Christmas Grand Nationals - 12/5/26, and that form exists for teams that hold a housing requirement and want out of it.

The November and December Housing Required cohort sent its booking email on September 8, 2026 at 2 p.m. Eastern. The team window opened September 10. The link went public September 21 at 11 a.m. Central. The housing desk answers by text or call at 502.354.9103, and coaches reach cheerdancegym@teamtravelsource.com.

What the guarantee compares

Team Travel Source offers a Lowest Rate Guarantee for some events. The comparison runs like for like: the same room type, the same dates, the same included amenities and the same payment and cancellation terms.

The page sets its tests. The quoted rate must belong to a participating partner hotel listed on the site. The dates must match the contracted dates. The room type must be guaranteed, so a rate on an unassigned room does not count. The amenities must match, and the page names free breakfast, a waived resort fee and free parking as examples. The cancellation policy must match, so a non-refundable or pay-now rate fails. Occupancy can move the figure, because some properties charge for a third or fourth adult.

One line matters most for a December buyer. A booking fee paid through Team Travel Source counts toward neither the room rate nor the guarantee.

Seven rate classes the guarantee refuses

The ineligible list runs to seven classes. Rates on Expedia, Travelocity, Hotels.com and Priceline are out, and the page gives the reason: those sites run flash sales on one or two rooms to move final inventory. Membership rates such as AAA and AARP are out. Corporate negotiated rates are out. Government rates are out. Hotel employee and friends-and-family rates are out. Prepaid and non-refundable rates are out. Rates for events where the guarantee is not available or advertised are out.

The page leaves one route open for a group. A booker who finds nine or more rooms at a lower rate on a booking site can report it, and the page says the desk will look into that. That route is a written request rather than a guarantee.

TTS Live! rates move with demand, and the page states that Live events do not qualify.

The cut-off is the deadline

The guarantee runs until the contracted cut-off date, which the page describes as approximately one month before the event. After that date the rooms return to the hotel. The hotel then sells the remaining inventory at rates the guarantee does not cover.

Two dates follow from that rule. A request filed before the cut-off carries the guarantee behind it. The same room appearing cheaper after the cut-off carries nothing, and that is the inventory a re-shop finds.

Ask the housing desk for the cut-off date that controls the property you intend to book.

Put the answer in writing

Four items belong in writing before December 5. Confirm that the Lowest Rate Guarantee applies to this event. Name the contracted cut-off date for the property you intend to book. Confirm whether the block carries the TTS Live! label. Confirm the room type and the rate the guarantee will compare.

The page carries a report form for a lower rate. It asks for name, program or team name, phone, email, hotel name and address, event name, event type, check-in and check-out dates, and screenshots. Assemble that packet on the day a lower rate appears. The form is the only channel the page names.

Run a request alongside the block

hotelhaggle takes one request for proposal at no charge and sends it to hotels in the destination. The platform publishes 50 or more properties per request, no commission added to the rate, a 24 to 72 hour response window and no obligation to book. Texas sits inside the service area. Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington sit outside it on the seller-of-travel page dated October 22, 2026.

Ask the destination hotels for the same dates and the same two-queen room type the block sells. Ask for the cancellation term in writing beside the rate. Those two lines make a quote comparable with the block.
