The Two Hotels the Festival Names
Double Exposure runs November 5 to 8, 2026 in Washington, DC. The festival's Travel and Lodging page names two hotels with negotiated discount group rates. Kimpton Hotel Monaco DC sits at 700 F Street NW, telephone (202) 628-7177. Eaton DC sits at 1201 K Street NW, telephone (202) 289-7600. Eaton DC is the festival's Symposium space and a 15 to 20 minute walk from the screening venue.
No Nightly Rate Is Published
The lodging page carries no nightly figure for either property. It states that rooms are available on a first come, first served basis and that both blocks carry booking deadlines. It publishes no rate and no deadline date.
The first ask is the number. Request the group rate at each property for the nights of November 5, 6, 7 and 8, and the block's booking deadline, in one reply. Ask what the rate becomes after the deadline.
The Tax Line to Add
The page states that DC charges a 15% tax on all hotel bookings. Multiply a quoted rate by 1.15 before comparing it with anything else. A $200 room lands at $230. A $300 room lands at $345. Ask each property whether the quoted group rate carries that tax inside or outside.
The Nights on Either Side
A delegate arriving November 4 or staying the night of November 8 sits outside the festival window. Request both nights at the group rate in the same message. The page does not extend the rate to either night.
The Pass Ladder Is Priced
The all-access pass is $200. The Friday pass and the Saturday pass are $100 each. Panels and Workshops only is $95, Just Film is $85, the Senior and Military film pass is $75, the Five Film pass is $50, and a single forum session is $25. The Academy professor pass is $150, the Academy student pass is $100, and the regular student pass is $110.
Friday at $100 plus Saturday at $100 equals the all-access price. Panels and Workshops at $95 plus Just Film at $85 is $180. The $20 difference buys light breakfast on November 6 and 7, invitations to the parties and receptions, priority entry, and the post-festival recordings.
The Five Film pass works out at $10 a film. A four-night stay at a group rate plus the $200 all-access pass is the figure to hold against a two-night stay and two $100 day passes.
The One Dated Commitment
Pass cancellations run through Friday, October 30. A request goes in writing and carries a $50 processing fee. Tickets are non-refundable and passes are non-transferable.
The hotel side publishes no cancellation term, no minimum stay and no rooms-per-name limit. Ask for all three in writing before a card is used.
The Five-Dollar Seats
The general policy sets aside a portion of seats at all screenings on a pay-as-you-go basis over a minimum ticket price of $5. Passholders hold a reserved seat until 15 minutes before the start. Available seats then go to ticket holders and to the rush line. A delegate on the $5 route needs to be in the room before the release.
The Roommate Route
The lodging page offers a form for sharing a room with a colleague and names Airbnb as a third option. Two names on one group reservation splits the four-night total.
The Asks in Order
One: the group rate at both named hotels for November 5 to 8, with the 15% tax shown separately. Two: each block's booking deadline and the rate after it. Three: the cancellation term and the rooms-per-name limit in writing. Four: the group rate for November 4 and for November 8. Five: the pass decision, made before the October 30 cancellation date.
