The National Principals Conference runs 6 to 9 February 2027 at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 South Franklin Street. Pre-conference sessions open Saturday 6 February at 8:30 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. The meeting ends at noon on Tuesday 9 February. The City of Tampa calendar records the booking from Sunday 7 February at 6 a.m. to Tuesday at midnight, with the whole convention centre in use.
Registration runs $699 before 1 October 2026, $949 from 1 October 2026 to 5 February 2027, and $1,399 after 5 February. Student registration holds $475. Pre-conference sessions add $200 each. Ticketed luncheons add $125 each.
The FAQ Answers No
The association's FAQ asks whether discounts exist for groups. The answer runs one word. No.
That answer fixes the shape of the negotiation. Twenty principals from one district fill twenty rooms and earn no published concession for the volume. The room money sits in a conversation with the hotel, and the housing block publishes the numbers to carry into it.
Twelve Properties From $269 to $339
Maritz runs housing for NPC27. A search on the portal's default stay, Saturday 6 February to Wednesday 10 February, returned twelve properties priced $269 to $339 a night. The portal states the rates are single occupancy and that extra occupants may carry extra fees.
Hotel Tampa Riverwalk opens the band at $269, 0.6 miles out. Hotel Flor Tampa Downtown closes it at $339, 0.5 miles out. Six properties sit at $319. Embassy Suites Tampa Downtown is one of them, at 513 South Florida Avenue, and its sky bridge reaches the convention centre.
Four nights at $319 comes to $1,276 in room charge before tax.
The Group Route Has Its Own Calendar
The portal separates individual reservations from group requests. The group route carries a five-room minimum. Twenty rooms clears it four times over.
That route publishes two deadlines the individual page does not. A room block must be requested by 6 November 2026. Reservation names are due by 11 December 2026 at 5 p.m. Eastern.
Three more dates apply to both routes. 12 January 2027 is the last day for a new reservation, a change or a cancellation. 13 to 17 January permits no updates at all. From 18 January every change runs through the hotel, and that includes alternative payment arrangements.

What the Block Leaves Open
The venue hotel page puts Tampa Marriott Water Street at 700 South Florida Avenue and JW Marriott Tampa Water Street at 505 Water Street, both 0.2 miles from the hall. Neither appears on the housing list.
No page in this record publishes a rate for either property across these dates. A district that wants one of them negotiates outside the block.
Five Questions Before the Signature
Ask the housing desk whether a district of twenty books as one group or two. Ask what the five-room minimum means for a district that fills ten. Ask whether the $319 Embassy Suites rate holds if the block splits across two confirmations. Ask who carries the first-night deposit charged from 13 January. Ask for the post-12 January rate in writing, because the portal names the cut-off and publishes no rate behind it.

hotelhaggle publishes one constraint for a Tampa request. Its seller of travel page, last updated 21 October 2026, states that the company cannot process hotel booking requests from residents of or for travel to Florida, Hawaii, Iowa or Washington, and that the restriction applies across all hotelhuddle properties.
A Florida request therefore goes to the property. The published block gives the ceiling. The property conversation sets the price.
