Tampa Build Expo takes the West and Central Halls of the Tampa Convention Center on Wednesday Jan. 20 and Thursday Jan. 21, 2027. The exhibit floor opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 3 p.m. on both days. Complimentary classes start at 9:30 a.m. Registration is required, and the floor and classes are complimentary for industry professionals.
Three pages carry the published terms for a buyer who needs a room: the organiser's exhibit and travel pages, the venue's 27-entry hotel list and parking ladder, and the platform's own seller-of-travel page. None of them carries a room rate for this show.
Booth space is the only money the organiser prints
The exhibit page runs a six-rung booth ladder: 10x10 at $2,575, 10x10 corner at $2,775, 10x20 at $4,920, 10x30 at $5,975, 20x20 at $7,276 and 20x30 at $9,018.
The travel page holds two hotel controls. One reads Hotel Recommendations Click Here and resolves to visittampabay.com/stay, a destination directory. The second reads See below other hotels close to the convention center for your convenience and renders a Google map centred on the venue. Neither carries a group code, a nightly rate or a cut-off date.
Lever one: no block means no cut-off to race
The show publishes no cut-off date, so there is no deadline to meet. Ask for a rate with a named expiry, confirmed in writing, and keep that expiry as your re-shop point before the show.
Lever two: open on the 0.2-mile pair
The venue hotel page carries 27 entries covering 26 distinct properties. Le Méridien Tampa, The Courthouse appears twice, at 0.7 miles and again at 1 mile. Every entry carries a phone number.
Two properties sit at 0.2 miles from 333 S Franklin Street. Tampa Marriott Water Street is at 700 S. Florida Ave. and (813) 221-4900. JW Marriott Tampa Water Street is at 505 Water Street and (813) 221-4950. The Westin Tampa Waterside is the third property at 0.3 miles or closer, at 725 S. Harbour Island Blvd. and (813) 229-5000.
Open the request on that trio and quote the published distance beside each one. Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Convention Center is the one entry with no distance, printed at 513 S. Florida Ave. with the note connected to the Convention Center via Sky Bridge. Ask that property what it charges for the connected walk.
When the Barrymore becomes the answer
The Barrymore Hotel Tampa Riverwalk sits at 111 W. Fortune Street and 1.4 miles, and its number is (813) 223-1351. At a three-mile-an-hour pace that is about 28 minutes on foot. Two entries bridge the gap: Home2 Suites Channel District at 1.1 miles and The Knickerbocker by Delphius at 1.2 miles.
The page prints the Barrymore above Home2 Suites, so read each number rather than the running order. The next entry out is Hampton Inn and Suites Ybor City at 2 miles.
Put the Barrymore number into the request as the floor for the downtown cluster, then ask the 0.2-mile pair to close the gap.
Lever three: the clock sets the night count
The floor runs five hours a day. Classes start at 9:30 a.m. and the show closes at 3 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 21. A Wednesday arrival covers both floor days and runs two nights. A Tuesday arrival adds a night in front of a 9:30 a.m. start. The Thursday afternoon close removes the case for a second Thursday night.
Write the night count into the request and quote the two-day clock as the reason for it.
Price the garage before you price the room
The garage at 141 E. Brorein Street holds 454 spaces with 11 ADA spaces and a 6 foot 6 inch height limit. The event rate runs $5.00 to $50.00. The non-event rate is $3 per hour with a daily maximum of $18. Pam Iorio at 301 Channelside Drive and Fort Brooke at 107 N. Franklin Street carry the same two ladders.
The Selmon Expressway West lot at 201 S. Ashley Drive and the Twiggs Street garage at 901 E. Twiggs Street run a $2 hourly non-event rate with a $14 maximum and the same $5.00 to $50.00 event flat. Front Drive offers 36 metered spaces at $4 an hour from 8 a.m. to midnight and takes no overnight vehicle.
Two nights in the garage run $10 to $100 on the event ladder, $36 at the $18 non-event cap and $28 at the $14 cap. Put that spread against any parking comp.
Florida sits on the hotelhaggle restricted list
hotelhaggle.org's seller-of-travel page, last updated 21 October 2026, states the platform cannot process hotel booking requests from residents of, or for travel to, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa or Washington. The page states the restriction applies across grouprooms.org, hotelhaggle.org, hotelslots.org, bookmyteam.org and partners.hotelhuddle.com.
A Tampa room request through the platform is out of reach for that reason. Take the three levers to the property direct.
hotelhaggle's how-it-works page describes the request the platform runs where it can trade: one submission reaches 50+ hotels in the destination, offers return in 24 to 72 hours with no obligation to book, and most hotels offer group rates for 10+ rooms per night, with some discounting from 5 rooms depending on season and availability.
What to put in the request
Four terms carry the leverage this show gives a buyer. Name a rate expiry, because the organiser publishes no cut-off. Quote the published distance and ask each property to meet the 0.2-mile pair. State the two-night midweek stay and the Thursday 3 p.m. finish. Ask for the event parking rate in writing and ask whether a comp covers the $5.00 to $50.00 ladder.
Every number above sits on a city, venue or brand page. The room rate is the one figure the buyer supplies.
