No block, no rate, no cut-off
The City of Tampa record for the Gourmet Food International Food Expo 2027 gives the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S. Franklin St., from 7 a.m. Wednesday March 3 to 11:59 p.m. Thursday March 4. No room block, no nightly figure and no reservation cut-off appear on the city's pages for the show.
The venue roster behind the record prints a distance for every property and a rate for none.
Two clocks on one record
The description field calls the show four days with more than 275 exhibitor booths. The date field gives Wednesday and Thursday. Book against the date field.
The description also reads is seeking a venue. That phrase and the missing block give a vendor the opening for a direct ask.
Confirm the dates first
The city page answered 404 on 21 October 2026. The details above come from the record as held in the city's search index. The organiser's live events page at gfifoods.com lists Atlanta on 29 September 2026, a charity golf tournament on 27 October 2026 and three national trade shows in 2027, with no Tampa date.
Call the convention center sales desk on (813) 274-7762. Ask for written confirmation of the dates and the hall assignment.
Ask for one night, priced twice
One night covers the show: Wednesday March 3 into Thursday March 4. Ask for Wednesday night and Thursday night as two separate lines and take the lower figure.
Put the room count, the arrival hour and the departure hour in the first email.
The Water Street pair
Tampa Marriott Water Street at 700 S. Florida Ave. and JW Marriott Tampa Water Street at 505 Water Street both print 0.2 miles on the venue roster. Ask both sales offices for the Wednesday rate in the same hour. Each quote becomes the reference for the other.
Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Convention Center at 513 S. Florida Ave. carries the Sky Bridge note and no distance figure. The Westin Tampa Waterside prints 0.3 miles. The Tampa EDITION, Hilton Tampa Downtown, Hyatt Place/Hyatt House and ROOST Tampa print 0.5 miles.
Ask for the walk time to 333 S. Franklin St. and the hour the sales office answers.
Put the garage in the same email
The convention center garage at 141 E. Brorein Street holds 454 spaces with an event rate of $5.00 to $50.00 and a 6'6" height limit. Pam Iorio at 301 Channelside Drive holds 790 spaces. Fort Brooke at 107 N. Franklin Street holds 556 spaces. Both run the same event band, and both allow overnight visitor parking to 6:00 a.m.
A vendor with a loaded vehicle pays that band each day the car enters. Ask the property whether parking sits inside the room rate and which garage clears a loaded van.
What the reply must carry
Ask for the rate on March 3, the rate on March 4, the cancellation term attached to each, and whether tax, destination fees, breakfast and parking sit inside the figure.
The Florida bar
hotelhaggle.org/seller-of-travel, last updated 21 October 2026, states the platform cannot process hotel booking requests from residents of or for travel to Florida, Hawaii, Iowa and Washington. The Florida entry reads Not currently registered as a Florida Seller of Travel, cited to Chapter 559, Florida Statutes. The same page names grouprooms.org, bookmyteam.org, hotelslots.org, partners.hotelhuddle.com and hotelhuddle.com under the restriction. The compliance contact is compliance@hotelhuddle.com.
This show sits in Tampa. The ask goes property to property by email or phone, and the answer comes back in writing.
Where the leverage sits
Nobody holds inventory against a show with no published block. A Wednesday night in downtown Tampa is a room a sales office wants to fill. Ask for a number, name the competing quote and ask again.
