Two conference days sit on the Tampa calendar for January 2027. The Labor Law and Labor Arbitration Conference opens at 7 a.m. on Wednesday 27 January and closes at 5 p.m. on Thursday 28 January. The venue is the Tampa Convention Center at 333 S Franklin Street, Tampa, Florida 33602.

The City of Tampa event page marks the listing as scheduled. Its organiser link points to laborarb.com, the Labor Arbitration Institute, which now operates inside the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution at Cornell University.

Registration is the first gate

The institute lists Tampa as JAN 27-28 under a heading of Conferences Coming Soon. The control beside that row reads NOTIFY ME WHEN REGISTRATION IS OPEN and opens a mailing list form. No fee, no agenda download and no hotel link exists for the January 2027 edition.

Philadelphia and New York, both live on the same page, publish early fees of $500 and $650 with a cut-off date and a materials line.

The January fee has one precedent

The prior Tampa edition still sits on the site under this city’s event path. It ran 5 and 6 February 2026, and the page reads “This event has passed.” That page puts the early price at $975.00 with a cut-off of 15 October 2025, and the regular price at $1,150.00 after that date. It describes a two day conference that begins on Thursday morning and ends on Friday afternoon.

The 2027 dates move the conference to Wednesday and Thursday. The City listing prints one span, 7 a.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. Thursday. The prior cycle page prints no clock time.

The $329 line and its cut-off

The prior cycle page publishes the one room rate this event has carried in public: “There is a group block at the Marriott Hotel Tampa Water Street, which is next to the Tampa Convention Center. The rate is $329.”

That page attaches a cut-off of 13 January 2026 and a note that the block can sell out several weeks before that date. It also states that winter is high season and asks attendees to book air and hotel early.

The Passkey record linked from that page still resolves. It names Labor Arbitration institute, Incorporated, covers 3 to 7 February 2026, and carries one property: Tampa Marriott Water Street at 505 Water St, 0.02 miles from the event. The reservation panel reads “Reservations are closed.”

Two numbers carry into 2027. A $329 night rate was published at a property 0.02 miles from the door. The block window ran four nights against a two day conference. No page on the site publishes a 2027 rate, a 2027 block window or a 2027 cut-off.

Three hotels inside a third of a mile

The convention center keeps its own hotel list, and it carries 26 properties. Tampa Marriott Water Street at 700 S. Florida Ave. sits at 0.2 miles. JW Marriott Tampa Water Street at 505 Water Street sits at 0.2 miles. The Westin Tampa Waterside at 725 S. Harbour Island Blvd. sits at 0.3 miles.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Downtown Convention Center at 513 S. Florida Ave. holds the one entry with no distance figure. The venue describes it as connected to the Convention Center via Sky Bridge.

Twenty three of the 27 listings carry a distance of 2.5 miles or less. Le Méridien Tampa, The Courthouse appears twice, at 0.7 miles and again at 1 mile, so those 23 listings resolve to 22 addresses. Three listings sit further out: Aloft and Element Tampa Midtown at 4.1 miles, Tampa Airport Marriott at 8.4 miles, and Embassy Suites by Hilton Tampa Brandon at 9 miles.

One address carries an open question. The venue list places JW Marriott Tampa Water Street at 505 Water Street. The Passkey block prints Tampa Marriott Water Street at 505 Water St. Both properties stand on Water Street and both sit within 0.2 miles of the hall. Ask which property the 2027 block covers.

Parking carries the second published number

The convention center garage at 141 E. Brorein Street holds 454 spaces and charges an event rate of $5.00 to $50.00. The non-event rate is $3 per hour with an $18 daily maximum. The venue states that long-term parking is not available at the center.

Front Drive holds 36 metered spaces at $4 an hour with no overnight parking. Pam Iorio at 301 Channelside Drive and Fort Brooke at 107 N. Franklin Street take overnight stays to 6:00 a.m.

What a request should carry

A group that wants rooms at the Water Street end holds three published anchors. The dates are fixed at 27 and 28 January 2027. The last published rate for this event is $329. The nearest block property sat 0.02 miles from the door.

Write four asks into one message for each property. Ask for the nightly rate in writing. Ask for the cut-off date. Ask whether the rate holds when the group adds rooms after the first confirmation. Ask for the cancellation term. The organiser refunds tuition in full at two weeks out and charges $50 inside 14 days.

Florida and the booking route

hotelhaggle publishes a seller-of-travel notice, last updated 21 October 2026. The platform cannot process hotel booking requests from residents of or for travel to Florida, Hawaii, Iowa or Washington, and the notice applies across grouprooms.org, hotelhaggle.org, hotelslots.org, bookmyteam.org and partners.hotelhuddle.com.

Tampa sits in Florida, so this event runs on direct requests to the property.

One line on the city page

The city page prints Free/Open to the public? Yes on a ticketed trade conference. That field is a calendar default. The prior cycle charged $975 early and $1,150 regular.
